New tidbit of information about the new 120 gb hard drive. Pretty much you will only be able to use the software and transfer cable to transfer info from a 20 to a 120 only once. Also you can't do a 20 to a 20 or a 120 to a 20. I suppose I understand why they are doing this, since you could always get all that purchased content from someone else's 360 on to yours. But it still kinda sucks.

-I believe the increased size is for IPTV.

-Gears of War is published by MS so won't be ported. According to their contract they have first dibs to publish any sequels.

-Mass Effect is published by MS as well.

As i said before, there are more 1080p games on xbox then there are for PS3. Virtua Tennis, Def Jam, NBA Street, and a few others have 1080p on 360.

Lost Planet does also, but i think it uses upscaling

As far as your gears of war comment...
Gears is contracted for this game and only the first sequel by Microsoft, so it is plausible Gears 3 could come out on other systems. I have also heard that M$ has kinda pissed them off somehow, but I'm not sure how exactly.

I heard MS has the right if they choose to publish sequels for who knows how many years.

Regarding your other comment, supposedly Epic has new maps/weapons for Gears available and they would like to release it for free. However MS won't allow that DLC available for free and would like to charge gamers but Epic does not want to segregate the community. This confrontation has happened with another game but I can't remember the name at this moment.

This is why no console should ever be truly dominate, lets people do shit that doesn't benefit the users, like Nintendo with cartridges, Sony and Bluray and M$ with a billion things they have done in the past lol.

If you're talking about cartridges being bad for their price/limited storage, I'd counter that with the argument of no real loadtimes and being able to save directly to the game.

I dunno, the loadtime on some games these days really turns me off.

What I should have said was Nintendo with their treatment of 3rd party developers + the cartridge thing. Yes load times are annoying, not $20+ annoying. As with Bluray vs DVD, yes Bluray is better but not $200 dollars better. And because of competition we get to choose! I wonder what the PS3 would cost if the 360 did not exist.

I also wonder what a 2-4GB cartridge would cost these days. Remember Neo Geo with their large cartridge yet pricey games.

Shelf your GC, the Wii runs the games perfectly. At least, that's what I did. Still have the N64 hooked up for the occasional game of f-zero.

Yea there is 0 reason to have a GC and a Wii hooked up, the compatibility is perfect... benefit over PS3 and 360? sorry not trying to start console war again

Xavier - awesome point about being able to save directly to the cart, that + shorter load times I think would account for the 20 bucks higher maybe back in the day.

If you look closer at the pic you'll notice he has the Gameboy Player on the bottom of his Gamecube. That alone is reason enough to have the system still out, I should know because it's one of the reasons our Gamecube is still in the entertainment center. It's nice to be able to pop in your Gameboy games now and then on it to play on the TV.

Bethany is fucking smart.. I have it hooked up for all the gameboy-only Zeldas, so the entire collection can be played readily at any point. I know.. it's lame as hell, but that's how I roll.
