For someone like me who is constantly trying to find inventory space to carry gear for my jobs, Osode is the only way to go. I always go for pieces that can satisfy more than one job.

Yes there are other options for brd, but you're not exactly "gimp" with it either. And as for ranger, you don't really need an Osode if you are an Ebow ranger. Osode helps more for the Obow rangers. You can prolly do better with other armor if you would rather shoot arrows.

However, rng and brd are some of the most inventory space consuming jobs in the game. I would recommend you go with osode and save space whenever you can.

as hard as it is to find space for jobs, i find this point of view rather detrimental towards the overall effectiveness of the linkshell. granted, brd isn't exactly gear intensive, and this is no way an attack against you as i know MANY people who have the same mindset, the key to a good FFXI player, in my opinion, is a wide range of gear; be it your enfeebling, weaponskilling, or whatever sets. i believe since FFXI is so skill dependent, having a wide array of gear will only let you be more effective. the best players not only have a great skill, but also gear to back them up.

You disagree then agree with me. If you're gonna be a good xbow ranger and a good brd then you're gonna need to carry a TON of f'ing gear. More gear than most other jobs. All I'm saying is that you should covet gear that helps two or more jobs at once.

The tons of gear argument used to carry some weight - but they've added Mog Lockers and expanded the storage space in the lockers...I have gear for 5 75 jobs in mine, finding the space for everything isn't nearly as hard as it was pre-TAU.

Pro tip: don't keep bone chips or lizard tails in your storage, sell those to NPC.
