Chill dude, lol. It's really not that serious to be getting all jumpy like that. I called you out because you simply looked at the update notes, and immediately shot down Choco-Racing as a Fish Ranking spinoff. The fact that you have no idea how it'll work from that point on (future updats to the system) adds to that.

Now, when I say you only camp kings, you missed the point again-- you'll stick to one (or all) of those things I mentioned, since obviously FFXI mini-games aren't your dealy, amirite? I could as well add Meriting and Chatting online to that list. My head isn't in my ass, you are just flipping out. I'ma have fun with the racing game regardless by the way; I'm not one to hate on most minigame aspects of FFXI, because of linear gameplay.

I don't know why people bother to post how shitty something will be before its out. Everyone knows the real fun is to sit and wait patiently, and then swoop in pointing and laughing at everyone who was optimistic afterwards. If it actually doesn't suck, at least you can still jump on the bandwagon and save face.

As someone who doesn't play too much anymore and only logs in to say hello to friends or scheduled events (not kings) with ls i was a bit bothered by the accusations. my one post you quoted was just a mock post, like how alla kids flip out on people.

My point was that it's not enticing for me or any of my friends who play. when they put out release notes that interest me i'll be the first one to say something positive of it but this is just boring to me. people shouldnt take it personally.

but in any case, i just had to defend myself, no grudges here.

The way I see it people posting stuff like "this is boring/lame/ect" are like people walking into a room of people playing pool and yelling "POOL IS LAME" and then walking out.

It just like... what exactly is the point? Just ignore... that way there is no bitching for the few who do care, and nobody likes bitching. This reminds me of the time people were complaining about BLM fixes(or was just that one spaz) in a thread about the LS Community Beta.

Now what is lame is that no PvP races(and betting) until the Summer. They should of made the PvP matches come first, then add those single player ones later.

And for something that's taking so long to put in(roughly half a year late and stretched out even after that) it better look it. I better be stunned, because it is taking them an expansion worth of work to get this thing finished. It better have some good strategic items beyond "chocobo with the best stats win, oh, but you can equip items too).

You guys are totally right, it was stupid of people to think they could somehow imagine what chocobo racing would be like, nevermind data mining showing the track and a video of a run through, SE explaining how it's going to work and telling us what the rewards are, and most of the work (chocobo breeding) already being out.

Agree or gtfo, this thread should be 10 pages of people saying "I'm cautiously optomistic!" "I can't wait to try it before I say anything about it"

There is a different between accepting a concept and being overoptimistic.

Some people are not even arguing that Chocobo Racing isn't going to be fun, they are saying anything that is a "mini-game" is stupid and pointless. If that's the case, there is really nothing for one to say in this thread. Why do you even give a second of your time to think about it?

If this thing pulls in any kind of profit RMT will get involved and totally ruin this resulting in a huge nerf to it. Until RMT stop making characters this game is gonna be gayed over and over and over again.

Yeah, while I was going to the Airport to pick up my cousin, the thought entered my mind that I was at fault from the start with such a comment-- I really don't take it personally, I just wish some people would be more optimistic about the various things SE tries to offer.

Can't expect everyone to like it (fun or otherwise) after release, so I'll just hope for the best really. This would be one of the few new things keeping me here if they hit it off with me; I've always been a fan of Chocobo Racing. I must agree with BRP however, they may have just fucked up their chances by releasing solo racing content before PVP-- betting is everything when it comes to a mini-game of this caliber.

I'd do the same and point out how I've most likely been using the internet since you were pre-teen, but not knowing your age I won't. If you can't see the childish and immaturity factor in calling things "gay" then perhaps my assumption has a lot more merit than yours. This is supposed to be an "advanced" player discussion, if your vocabulary is limited to "gay" then perhaps you're in the wrong place? Funnily enough, even the people on GameFAQs are past that level.

Last summer and fall, several surveys regarding chocobo racing were conducted from premiere FINAL FANTASY XI sites in Japan, North America, and Europe.

The order in which SE gives a shit about their customers. :D
