Noob GSmithing question

The other day I asked my LS upon returning from a break if any HQ lv74 rings had been made yet, and I was told that 2 lv100+3 Gsmithers had experienced HQ animation but no HQ.

Is HQ for this synth really not possible? Or does it possibly HQ starting on a HQ2 not HQ1?

not possible, you can get animation, but the rings dont exist.

i'm not sure if all the rings are ingame. but i recall seeing a JP with a HQ MND ring on siren. this was afew years ago thou, wish i had a SS of it.

Yes I got HQ animation lol... so pissed off, but there's proof they are still not craftable.

I got HQ animation on 2 rings in a row... instead of doing kaiser shield synths first then 0/12 on shield ; ;

The rings may exist and be obtainable, but if they do exist I can say with probably 99.9% confidence that it definitely isn't a HQ result of the O. Ring + Bead synth. I recently had the thought that it could be a hidden recipe involving a Triton's Ring. I know people have tried Triton Ring+Bead before, and it won't even let you synth, but that doesn't mean it can't be Triton Ring + bead + something else, or even a different recipe all together.

There's tons of hidden recipes in the game. I've been told that even beaded rings are a hidden recipe. i.e. that if you talk to the synthesis NPC, they never even tell you the recipe for Flame Ring, Snow Ring, etc.

I don't give much credibility to this theory, because Occam's Razor says that the item just isn't synthable. But if it is, the only possibility that exists in my mind is that it's a hidden recipe.

Introducing them into the game would suddenly make the Tamas Ring completely obsolete, and the demand for HQ melee rings for WS macros over Rajas would be ridiculous.

I said after the release of the CoP rings that I would be insanely surprised if they released the HQ lv74 rings. I still stand by that. Not impossible, but insanely surprised to say the least.
