How many calories in a croissant?

Maybe this is spam-worthy, but I put it here based on the forum section description.

I eat for lunch every day a 200 calorie bowl of soup and one croissant about the size of my open hand. They come 5 in the package, fresh from the bakery at the Bruno's across the street from my office. Since they are baked in-house they don't have nutrition fact labels on them, so I was wondering where I might locate this mystery number, or if anyone here might have an idea on the caloric content of such an item.

I'm trying to keep my caloric intake around 1000 calories a day.

A 2000 calorie diet assumes that you engage in a moderate amount of exercise every day. I used to work for Bridgestone/Firestone as a service technician, at which time I was busting my ass 10 hours a day, 6 days a week. I was taking in well over 2000 calories a day then. The job I hold now is nowhere near as physically demanding, since I sit behind a desk or at a drafting table for 8 hours a day building roads. Unfortunately I didn't change my eating habits, so I've picked up about 40 lbs over the last two years. The mass reduction in caloric intake is so my stomach will shrink, and I will be satisfied with eating less every day. It's not something I intend to keep up for a long time.

You could masturbate under your desk a few times a day.

actually for exercising people should get about 3000 calories a day according to my health teacher, and all the numbers like 2000 calories a day are based off of a 40 year old women's diet and exercise.

I guess I have some kind of super metabolism. If I have any less than 1800-ish calories a day, then I will drop 40 lbs in a week, easily. And right now, I'm only 160 at 6'1" at 18 years old.

It's rough sometimes, like when I'm sick for a few days and don't eat much, my clothes will be too big for me when I go back out into the world.

That calculator says I need 2500 calories a day, 30% from fats, with a sedentary lifestyle to maintain my current weight. This is not what I want to do. The bone loss study though, I'd like to know the ages of their sample subjects.

Give a man a Big Mac, and you feed him for a day. Teach him to order at McDonalds, and you kill him in 6 months. -- Hazen

over 57,so yeah, you could argue that's why it happened...but,why exactly is it you dont want 30% of your diet to be fat?

I edited that, after re-reading the calculator. It said I needed 2500 calories a day with 30% of that from fat to maintain my current weight. My goal is to drop this 40 lbs I've picked up in the last two years. Also, that study group is over twice my age :3

You need to exercise to lose weight. Simply reducing the amount of food you eat won't cut it. First off, 1000 calories is insane. You're starving yourself and it doesn't even sound like you're eating health food.

Secondly, if you do lose weight by doing this, you're not losing weight from fat. Instead, you're losing weight from muscle, which ends making you more flabby then lean.

City, you have the hands down most awesome avatar on this forum. I wish that show still came on TV. And yeah, 1000 calories a day isn't much at all, but like I said, it's only until my stomach shrinks back down. The more you eat, your stomach will expand. When I was turning wrenches I was taking in 3K calories a day because my body needed it. It doesn't now. But my stomach capacity is still the same size because I didn't start eating less. That's all I'm trying to accomplish.

Do you get any type of exercise now? Also, what kind of food do you usually eat in a day?

This is a horrible idea. I'd really advise reading up on some diet and excercise facts before you commit to a 1000 calorie diet.
