How the fuck is banning them monthly and making equipment rare/ex a fucking band-aid fix?

i think his point was that they will never stop moving onto something else that SE takes away and that they should start banning daily instead of monthly.

Somewhat off topic;
Blizzard is just the same. Getting whispers and seeing stuff in public channels, call a GM and nothing is done. RMT are like an infection on an online game. They are incredibly hard to handle. For us to identifiably a RMT is easy, for SE and other company's not soo much. I rather have them do it the way they are and not get other people mixed up in their mass bans. There will ALWAYS be RMT in this game. Its basic supply and demand. People will always want to buy gil. There will always be a market for it. The more people that get banned the bigger the demand the smaller the supply and the buying price of gil will go up which leads to more RMT. Its like the circle of life but with little Chinese boys in a sweat shop.
There there, don't be going all emo now just because you missed a claimOriginally Posted by Carrots

CGF on Hades told me they sell 200-300m a month on Hades alone, who the fuck buys that much gil?

with 4000 "legit" players online on each server, I'd imagine it's not much per person who buysOriginally Posted by Starr
doesn't take alot of people just buying 1-2mil a month to add up to that.
edit: maybe that picture is a whoosh to me, maybe not, Kuno.
But if your implying military service members who play ffxi buy gil, then I can back that up, cause alot of them do (I know that 6 of the 8 service members that play ffxi on my friendlist have or still buy gil)
I was going to say Kyron, but I think he went to Remora actually.Originally Posted by Starr
He means alot of gil is bought by people of the middle east, most specifinally UAE players (at least that has always been a constant mention on Bahamut in the past--same thing on Asura we have some UAE that are massive gil buyers).
Because they will move onto something else, like ruining crafting.Originally Posted by Kuya

Pretty much what Septimus said. Don't get me wrong: what they're doing now is a huge improvement over their previous policy of pretending the problem doesn't exist and failing to respond until the entire economy is in ruin. It's great that RMT have a much much harder time cock-blocking players from playing the game. But they're not going away, and it's only a matter of time before they find a new bottle-neck to block. Banning them on a predictable schedule means that RMT have a full month to generate gil before they have to worry about the banstick.Originally Posted by Kuya
I also hope that I didn't come off as sounding like I think Square is doing nothing. I am impressed at how quickly they have been responding to the RMT lately, it is a huge positive sign on the company's part. They have to keep it up, there is no room for complacency, that is how things got as bad as they are now.Originally Posted by Sykes
You didn't at all. Basically what I was saying is that what they're doing now is a huge step in the right direction, but I think that they need to expand their efforts and be more proactive in the direct removal of RMT rather than continually changing the game play mechanics which only force RMT to focus their efforts elsewhere.Originally Posted by Septimus
bigbomb seems to be the new cockblock on carbuncle, 12 rmt fight over 4 pops unless someone finds another area to farm the pop items.
Yeah, I don't think anyone was saying that what they are doing is bad, in fact its mostly praise, but that doesn't mean that we don't want them to stop until every RMT has moved to WoW. Bannings, game fixes, creating more legitimate sources of income, etc. They are definitely working hard, but they need to stay vigilant.Originally Posted by Sykes

Anyways SE is definitely improving on removing RMT...
I think they screwed up with Ulli by not changing despot kind of...Despot is like a king camp now...and RMT are always there.....so one form of cockblockage to another..
As annoying as long ulli pops were, i think despot is worse cause you dont want to fight all those annoying statues who will magic aggro if you camp in the middle <.<
I was going to mention we have a lot of UAE players but even then ><
