Off-topic I guess, but does anyone have a link to one of those tests that suggested charm rate was dependent upon bst main level even while subbed?

I recall someone claiming that Asuran Fists also stunned Attercops, a while back. Has there been any further evidence of WSs stunning those spiders, or just damaging job abilities?
i dont think any real tests were done.. it'd be kinda hard for the same person to test /bst at every level of bst but there is enough collective anecdotal(sp) evidence suggesting this to be trueOriginally Posted by fantasticdan
i for one can not charm the scorpions in ifrits cauldron for the life of me as whm/37bst (0 out of like 10+ charm attempts, including using tame then charming), however my bst friend, as whm/75bst charms them just fine.. my other friend who was whm/50bst had few difficulties charming them as well, but still failed more than the main 75bst
thats just 1 experience of many reported of such cases happening
I've seen tests done on the alla bst boards, but I'm not about to go trawling through pages of threads looking for them. Basically they consisted of two people going whm/bst (or nin/bst, I don't remember) who are equipped the same so the only difference is the level of their bst main. The one with higher bst main got a better Gauge result than the other person.Originally Posted by fantasticdan
Incidentally, these update notes (in Japanese) from April 2003 mention something about bst as a subjob, so I can't help but wonder if SE did explicitly state that bst main affects charm rate of /bst. Machine translations are less than clear though, before you start quoting me what babelfish has to say.
1st part is probably talking about calling and releasing jug pets. The modification regarding animal errand
* Ability “it starts calling” the addition which
The animal using private equipment (the missiles slot) consuming the item, the animal call
The [bi] it is possible to put out.
* Ability the correction which “is worked”
When support job is animal errand, [sapotojiyobure] of that time
Than in the past it became more difficult to work the monster above the bell.
* It reached the point where it has the weapon skill of the both hands sickle.
2nd part is what you are referring to. Makes enough sense to me.
They stun aht urghan spiders, this one aint a woosh...so Jump/High Jump stun Attercrops as well.

Seriously, stop posting.
We believe you, but you bumped a month old topic to tell us something we already knew.Originally Posted by Metah

Please tell me you aren't that dumbOriginally Posted by Nuketwig
So much fucking whoosh in this thread, it simply blows me away.
My WS have always stunned them, you can easily see this by using a short WS, then running away. This should be correct, unless the whoosh has made me lose my mind.So about that Asuran-Fists-Stunning-Spider-Web pic... anyone recall what I'm referring to? Was in response to Seraphus, showing him where it had already been stated. Figured since it was pretty much right after his post I didn't need to quote him as well, my bad I guess.Originally Posted by Metah
Fair enough. Comment retracted.Originally Posted by Nuketwig
From farming 4 merit points worth of these on SMN, I've yet to see Spirit Taker noticeably stun the ones right outside the Whitegate Postern to Bhaflau. Don't really recall noticing them being stunned by WS when leveling MNK on the ones in southern Wajaom either, though it was obvious with Chi Blast.Originally Posted by Kuya
