I never understood that, it's written specifically "Lamia" yet they still change it.

I had a JP friend a long time ago, who used to call me Road. I one day thought about it, Lordwafik > Lord > Load > Road. However my name is plastered all over the /tell and such, I don't get why he'd call me that.

If I'm remembering my linguistics classes correctly, it's due to something called "phonotactic constraints". "l" sound and "r" sound aren't distinguished from one another, so the letters are essentially interchangable. I can't think of a good analogy because the ones they used were like "aspirated p vs. unaspirated p" in English, and there's not a commonly used symbol for aspirated "p" that we might mistakenly write instead of the regular symbol.

Yeah, but it's not like they don't have "L" on their keyboard. Why they don't bother typing the word correctly when they already have the english word in front of their eyes? Mobs name are typed in english already, players name are also in english. It's not that hard to write it exactly like they are.

Taj, think you could condense additional effects, like from Enspells, Spikes, etc.? Possibly even Dual Wield, Double Attack and the like?

This used to drive me insane when I used to solo a lot on RDM, but affects a number of other situations.


As for the effect text changes, I think it's just a bug in their grammar systems. Seemed to be using the "<Name> is Y'ed" version of the effect instead of the actual effect name.

japanese can not, without proper harassment, use L or V properly in the capacity of a natural born english speaker, or for the technical term for english in US: S.A.S.E (Standard American Simplified English).

the grammatical error is present from a coding error. expect the message to change to accomadate syntax or to change to orginal format at some point.
