Crashing upon toggling the status bar and other issues

It's been about a month now since this has happened. Under special circumstances when I try to toggle the status bar (for canceling sneak, stoneskin, utsusemi, etc.) POL will crash on me. I'm not sure what defines the special circumstances because I would be on WHM and be able to cancel stoneskin without problem at one instance, then crash while I'm trying to do the same minutes later, perhaps at a different zone.

Another issue is that I can't make use of any of my merit points. The confirmation step for allocating merit points will not pop up for me .

I wish I know what is going on . I thought about reinstalling but I don't have the CDs with me, nor does my dvd-rom drive work atm. If that's the only way out though, I'll live with it for another month. Any help is appreciated!

The Windower Crash up is probably due the Font patch you are using, you have to get a new version, that is if they released. Im still looking for it as well.

About the merits, same problem here. I'm not able to spend any merit points at all.

did you try playing in non-windowed mode to see if it works there?

I wasn't using a font patch, but it turns out the problem originated in the dats. I replaced some ROM directory files with the originals; things have returned to normal as far as I can tell.
Here Lhayla, try replacing your ROM directory files with these.

Thank You I'll try it. As for the Merit problem thing, it persist, on my PC, on my Laptop, windower mode or not.
