Shit, when I started playing, we had parties in freaking Meriphataud, and we had a party killing mobs like crazy in Buburimu trying to get our subjob items for hours. Then a bunch of JPs came around and raped the bogies that popped and kinda saved us a few days of time (Bogy+Lv17-18pt=lollllllll).

    Those were the days.

But, um, more recent... I led a PT to a camp in SSG behind the Gold Beastcoin door and we XP'd on some bats and sometimes pulled a Sahagin or two. It was past stupid Minstrel Coat nm and you only dropped down one ledge, then it was on the left. Some water elemental popped there and gave us some problems, though.

I'll do anything to XP on a mob with shitty defense, seriously.

Sahagins suck though. I leveled BRD on the ones outside the zone to SSG, I forget what level though (Low-Mid Thirties I think, pretty sure Russta was using Kampf gear). He kept complaining about their hate reset move though, we never XPd off them again.

Has anyone tried Dangruf Wadi as a viable exp location for a party?

    Ones I didn't see mentioned:

Starmites at 53-55 in Tor[tab] Canal. Was a bitch to get to, but was awesome exp. We'd occasionally have to kill a dire bat that spawned on us (we camped on the stairs right next to the room full of the beetles). SMN pulling helps a lot there, but SMN + WHM = ew. That or a good and crazy sleeper.

Flamingos in sky, above Byakko's teleporter at 62-65. Was kind of sucky at 62, but do-able. As we got levels, it got better. We camped on some broken bridge, no Groundskeepers/Sprinklers around the camp.

Pugils past the mythril door in Sea Serpent Grotto - 50-52. It was pretty good. We camped on the ramp right before the pugil NM in that area. We'd occasionally fight sahagins too. I tried that spot again a month later and ended up leaving because we were fighting a horde of level 75s for pulls.

I don't know if this one is common or not...but enterance to Ule[tab] Range in the early 50's. Bunnies/Tigers.

Kuftal Tunnel, at phantom worm ??? - 58-61. By 61 we were just destroying the raptors/goblins. The area past the Tachi:Kasha NM in kuftal works at that level too.

Garliage - 54ish (if I remember right), monk party on bones. This one actually didn't work out so well. It had potential to be awesome though, I think. No bard and poorly equipped monks (having accuracy rings and jujitsu gi made me the best equipped monk of the 3 of us...it was that bad). We probably should have been higher level too, since we had no tank. I think they were still IT then.

Sadly, I don't think I've been to many unpopular camps lower than ToAU levels. Yhoathor Jungle near ifrit's goblins, bats in Behemoth's, and Davoi (back when NA PC came out and qufim was crowded enough that monsters wouldn't aggro players half the time because it was so laggy) are all I've been to.

Goblins are pretty cool and there are still quite a few Dhamels who will con 18.

So 14-17 Buburimu Penisula, try it.
    What mobs did you kill?

You can kill pretty much everything. Start behind the outpost with the mandies and rabbits, and gradually move up to goblins and then birds (I think). Those birds actually seemed pretty hardcore the last time I leveled (in a party) there, but then...that was like 2 years ago. I never got up to the Dhalmels in a party, but I guess you could do those and the higher-tier goblins too. There are also crawlers hanging out; you could theoretically camp to the west or east of Mhaura for crawlers/dhalmels/higher goblins (but the east will also have undead...which, hilariously, drop Magicked Skulls).

I always wanted to try that camp, but my statics have never wanted to XP on bunnies. One day! One day!

I tried to take a pt there once, literally everyone in the pt was either a mage or subbed NIN, and nobody wanted to go cos of the AoE attack. Couldn't convince even one of them that shadows stopped that one.

...now that I think about it, DO shadows stop Claw Cyclone (or whatever the rabbit move is) the same way they stop Fluid Spread? Or was I completely wrong about that?

No clue, but that's why they didn't want to go either. Whirl Claw (right name?).

We're not going to get to XP on bunnies? Well luckily my XP static is also my assault static and we just ranked up to LC. Shanarha Grass Conservation here we come! Heh heh heh. Dead bunnies one way or the other!

    It takes 2 shadows, yes.

But it only takes one fight against Unstable Cluster to understand how much fun it is to fight mobs like that with only Utsu:Ichi.

Two Pimp Mnks, Crazy War/Sam, Rdm, Whm, Brd, we wrecked a deeper camp in Hediva (just go right from the zone, drop down the first little ledge, then go north and drop again into that pit, you can put your back up against a wall and actually just pull imps, but we smashed the flayers goodly).

It wasn't "Why fight soulflayers" it was *looks back to see a soulflayer standing there in casting pose like the boogie man* "Hell, another just pulled itself".

I once got a newbie party to Pashow Marshlands, we killed crabs, quads, bunnies, was an interesting change of pace, Im sure there could be some really nice dunes alternatives there, especially with the new bounty hunters.

    Ix'DRG pop exp is hawt.

Hpemde exp is hilarious. *mouth opens, everyone spams WS, mob goes poofy*

Aura Statues/Enkidu for Ulli pop's anyone?

Bunnies/Tigers in Ule, theres also that little tunnel with the Shu'Meyo Salt NPC through the first buff field with fat batsx3 (aggro) and wormsx3 (non-aggro) that a roamer could rape, Qufim pond style, but not sure of the levels yet, gotta look them up.

Gonna have to see if I can't get a party out there though, could be fun as hell. :D

Dangruf Wadi deeper inside on Gobs, Bubu just outside of Mhaura at 18-20 (Gobs/Dhalmels mainly).

Man, think of all the newbies who haven't been dragged to that one cave in Terrigan at 56 to fight the crabs from hell.

    Those bastards.

They should have to go through what I did.

(Even though I leveled in shakhrami, bubu, and behe-dom. They shouldn't get those, those were good. Dunes>Qufim>Jungles>Citadel>Nest etc. onry)

The esbats are around lv 60-62-ish. It was a pretty good solo spot for my drg 60-61, 3 EM-T bats that I could kill, occasionally mix in a bunny from the outside to fill up the time on repops. So...for a pt, um...what'd that be, mid-50's? Probably a level or 2 lower than the mid-50s KRT camp w/ Dire Bats.

Level 67 Shade mobs at Dvucca Isle SP. Easiest mobs to fight ever, only need either 1 Rdm or 1 Whm+Brd.

Hit 23 earlier, then party picked up and since I didnt have kaz keys on this guy yet, we thought about it for a second and went out into bat downs.

I'm going to try to get people out there around 22 now, Ba's are soooo much nicer to fight than crabs with undead/GBH's around now.

You can just keep using Ba's for chains as you level, then toss in everything else, Tigers, lower orcs, gobs, etc.

Man, the good old days huh? Except now we've got good gear, bards, pl's, good food useage, and things like ninjas.
