Got it earlier, it gives Chocobo Digging Bonus
The bonus allowed me to dig up colored eggs, hard-boiled eggs, soft-boiled eggs(hq) bird eggs and single Sarui-ran(kurayami tool) in Rolanberry Fields. None of which were in the item pool before. Still fatigued after 100 digs. Please share your results.

same for me,only colored eggs, hard-boiled, soft-boiled and sairu-san, but i got my 100 items in 10minutes in the 1st jungle without zoning, didnt happen in age

If the eggs give you the same skillup opportunity as normally digging does, I see this as a way to power-level Chocobo Digging...


Did you still get all of your normal loot? What was the rough ratio of item:egg?

still got the normal loot i always get. orich. ores, gold and mythril coins, red jars. Out of the 100 item cap : about 15 eggs. Every egg you get is one less chance at expensive item, for sure. Who knows if it will give extra skill though. I'm A15 btw

Yesterday I did H&C with it on. Got the chest in three digs in the Marshlands. While that's outstanding luck, I suspect it's just that: luck. I picked the right direction and took the right number of steps.

I got a salad and blue peas, which again are good luck but have happened before.

Salad and blue peas are the "good luck" rewards in Hot and Cold? I was debating on whether to get into that with my smart chocobo, but now I'm not too sure...

i used to get dragon talons, dragon meat, dragon scales and some alum. ore before this latest update to hot and cold.

i too tried with new hat, got my chest on the last dig. salad and peas which sadly is the best i've gotten since the last update.

Hmmm, and here I was thinking about how I should raise a mental choco on my main at last to try that out.

Has that become the 'good luck' reward in all zones? I guess that Hot and Cold was... dare I say it... functional before the update?

Err, and yeah, betting that it doesn't help on Hot and Cold since that's not technically considered digging, though... could be wrong.

In my opinion, H&C is hardly worth doing if you already have a strong mental bird, and totally not worth raising a bird for.

Pre-update you could get some good stuff (ores, talons, etc), but now the "good" stuff is all stuff for raising chocobos. The ores and talons might still be around, just seriously rare now.

I'm a high level digger with a strong mental bird, and I mostly get crap. So many fish, so many worms for feeding your bird. ><

Good stuff can be easier found in Bubu and the Dunes, but it's really hard to "win" in those zones.

I think the good stuff will probably be found in the jungles and deserts. I've dug a fair bit in Bubu and am not very impressed. >_>

bubu and dunes is way too hard with zero abilities ;/
somehow i bet burrow will help more in dunes/desert and bore more in bub/jungle, purely speculation

I managed to dig up a Dragon Talon and Yellow Ginseng in Meriphataud Mountains today, first awesome H&C for me, so talon's are still around. My bird's focused on STR/END, if that has anything to do with it.

Not really to do with the digging aspect but on Egg Helm topic nonetheless and not seen this mentioned anywhere yet... if you call your NPC while wearing the tit hat he/she will wear it too similar to Xmas fashions.
