Do you guys do the full inven, zone and switch the reward trick?

They nerfed that a while ago.

It still works for me, I'm just curious if anyone else has done it and gotten the breastplate. Last time I switched the prize out a few times to get mannequin hands. Funny thing was, he offered the mannequin body, I dropped a crystal and talked to him again, and he gave me hands lol.

I have one of these sitting in my mog house... and there it stays... always. A friend who bought it then left the game let me "Borrow" it. It's trash, I assure you. It MIGHT be ok for a resistance build, but only if you're desperate for that last +15. It's also ugly as fuck... (too lazy to make a SS, go pull it up in model viewer).

It is tied with Koenig Cuirass as the second highest defense body piece in the game. (Kaiser Cuirass has one more defense.) Plus it is hot for elemental build.

However, the most important thing of all is that it is highly uncommon. People pay a lot of money for things that other people don't have, even if they aren't that good...

So what you're saying is... the trick works but you weren't able to get the item you were offered but instead a different item?

So what you're saying is... the trick works but you weren't able to get the item you were offered but instead a different item?

Items are random until you are offered a XP scroll, then you're stuck.

With the right gear plus this breastplate you can get considerable elemtal resist builds for things like JoL, Taimat/Jormy in the air, Citadel buster resist, you get the idea. Sure I can see the argument thats its not worth the gil, but at this point, Im running out of things to get for my PLD.

We have two in my LS, I have one and other pld does, pretty sure both were bought off bazaars for 5Mish. Saw one not that long ago for 4.5M

While it is a situational piece, what piece of gear isnt. There is nothing better for a resist build, and if you arent using a resist build at least for wyrms you should cause getting hit for like 30 dmg while a wyrm is flying is the coolest.
