something tells me they're main brd, and needed to fast swap to whm. consider blessed mitts vs marduk's mitts.
Blessed Mitts: +15 MP, +7 MND, +5% Haste, -3 enmity.
marduk Mitts: +2% MP (probably about 20-24 MP total), +6 MND, -4 Enmity
blessed mitts cost far less than marduk hands just on materials, ignoring all the difficult "getting salvage drops" part.
now consider blessed pants vs marduk's pants. that's like comparing yigit pants to blessed pants. they're not even in the same ballpark. i just can't see that as being someone's natural gear build.
Well, that's why I said they are decent. I prefer a stat opposed to MACC, especially when you got a lot of the stat opposed to 3 MACC.Originally Posted by Palom

yeah, but those require effort to get a hold of, and bar from storing af anymore as opposed to throwing 5k at the AH and getting a pair of blessed mitts. maybe that has no relevance though.Originally Posted by Ohemgee
wtf was SE thinking when they designed marduk gloves, i wouldnt wear then over af+1 except for SS on brd, apparently whm and smn wouldnt get much use out of them either.

The only thing I can possibly think of, is that his native language might not have been English? My native language is not English and I had no fucking clue what "Latent effect" meant until I was just about ready for endgame. I think it was more pure chance than anything else, that I never wore any of it. Hell, to this day I still don't know the dictionary definition of "latent," I just know what it means out of context, from playing FFXI and listening to CSI people on TV talk about latent fingerprints. >.>Originally Posted by Agrona

i'm not a whm, but the set doesn't seem to be that bad... i'm guessing its considered trash (besides body of course) cause there's blessed/other options that arnt fucking hard to get?
I'll tell you what's wrong with wise gear.Originally Posted by Palom

Not all of it sucks, and Magic acc definitely does not suck. I don't have wise gear but I don't exactly weep when I see people in it. If it's part of a land set then /shrug, if you're doing your job and not being a tard RDM then I couldn't care less.
Let's take a look at it this way. Chausable, which is the Body, is 5 Magic Accuracy. Warlock's Tabard is 10 (or 15, can't remember) enfeebling magic skill. 1 Skill = 1 Accuracy. It's not all bad, but there is definetely better in some places. I think the pants and the feet are the only ones I see on people and only for the intetest of magic accuracy.
Errant/Mahatma > Wise legs. Nashira seraweels are better too. Really no reason to wear that crap.
That's what I'm saying. Hands and feet are good for a mnd/int build. But you can get devotees+1 for hands for more MND. Feet are good for a buyable INT slot. If you really want to invest in aspir/drain accuracy go with hat and body... But eh.... That's just more inv space.Originally Posted by chapstick
hat only for dark magic, unless you have nashira hat, for body i would rather use JSE or nashira
That's if you wanna take up more inv space <_<
the takehome message from the conversation is pretty simple it seems to me. "shit's situational." you WS in heca gear. you don't tp in heca gear. if you do, you're being dumb. the way i see it, while chausible and such have their uses, using them full time is just like TPing in heca gear. while it may give you some bonus, that doesn't make it the best choice for that slot at all times by any stretch.
Four parties on my corsair this week, four full time myochin domaru samurai in them. At 70. I wish I was kidding.
I forgot to take screenshots of all of them but they all followed this general pattern:

The party was awesome but jesus christ
Domaruuuuuuuu
Update! He just dinged into full hachiman. I should have seen that coming a mile away argh
It really depresses me how bandwagon SAM has become, I've seen so many full time domarus lately. Even AF hands are acceptable now, but what are these clowns thinking? I've gotten to the point where I will go out of my way to give gimp SAMs a verbal thrashing these days. No Subtlety required.
