How I mine for fish? (making money in poor economy)

What are people doing to make money?

It feels like the RMT and anti-RMT have wiped out any possible method of earning gil. Feels like the only options left are:

    1. Farm normal mobs for items and NPC them
    2. Camp NMs and hope you can win pull / get drop
    3. Do ENM / BCNM
    4. Craft

What kind of things are you doing to prevent going broke? Oil/Powder + food + Transportation + Limbus fees add up to like 200k / week but it's getting harder and harder to keep up.

ENM, duoing KS30 and Assaults get me a good amount of my gil.

I don't camp NMs, I have really shitty luck with drops in the rare chance that I claim anything. I only have good luck on NMs when I help other people, and they go 1/1 on rare drops while I go 0/15+ on stupid things (damn you LL -.-).

I've been NPCing pretty much everything I can... plenty of stuff isn't worth AHing, just gotta get in the mindset of not throwing anything away. Some things (Macahuitl -1 and Tariqah -1, otoh) NPC for the same or more than they AH for, with the added bonus of getting some gil back into the economy.
But I'd be completely fucked if I hadn't found a Dynamis shell that splits the cost of the glass and autolots currency; there's only been one run so far that I didn't profit (and I think I managed to break even on that).
I used to mine Mt Zhayolm, but everything is so deflated that it's not really worth the effort.

There are a few things that I can craft with and still make gil. Lately I have been so burned out with crafting, I haven't bothered much, but food, powders, oils - they all make money if you know what you are doing.

When I cook, I focus on "secondary market" - stuff that is medium fast sales that people don't make for some reason - think coeurel sub, meat kebobs, yellow curry, etc.

I also profit on beastmen controlled areas. On Saturdays, if it appears areas are going to be controled by beastmen (glacier is a big one because of the tav.taco ingredients). I load up on the ingrediends on a mule, then sell them for up to 6k/stack profit.

I also make items that crafters need but may not be able to make themselves - gold thread, gold chains, etc. etc.

And, finally, I am an AH troll. Scrolls, armor/weapon drops from mobs, ect. If they are selling for a low amount on AH, I buy them, then proceed to sell them to NPCs for more gil. I think most dropped scrolls minimum NPC price is about 1800-5k.

There are a handful of stackable items that FFXIAH has miscalculated the profit margins on. Even if I NQ these its 750k a week and they sell quick since nobody else makes them because they are a 'huge loss'. Throw in some HQ and things are rolling nicely. Now more than ever looking at profit margin using AH will really help since apparantly on some stackables the website doesn't calculate margin correctly.

I'm still making money crafting. It's all about keeping ahead of common knowledge. Last weekend one of the markets I keep tabs on went to 20-25k profit per synth, fast seller too, and I pushed out 200k profit with a very minimal amount of effort.

I don't put nearly the effort into moneymaking anymore, though. Nothing to buy really.

Whenever this happens over here, that item quickly gets flooded and people undercut like fucking pussies and ruin the synth. =\

ENM/BCNM/KSNM, Assault (though not as much as before), and Crafting.

I only need gil right after I've made a purchase or if I'm approaching my minimum carrying balance.

If there's nothing doin anywhere, I've got a few crafting recipes that I can briefly exploit for a quick profit if I put in the time to hunt down the materials cheaply or farm them myself.

This is all the idea i can come up with

solo/duo pop NMs - RDM, other job that can DD
Limbus coins dolo/duo - BLM, NIN
    assault
(i like these 3 b/c very consistent even if slow at times, but gaurantees)

    not worth the time:
ENM, went like 0/10 at one point on any worthwhile items

I wonder how much gil/hr you can make killing gigas in 2004 DRG RMT style Upper D. Tower farming.

It took me a long time, but that formed the basis of me getting a noble's fairly recently. It is slow, but if you pick what you fish well, it is still possible to make money (I'm skilling at the same time, so not so bad).

    Think it's about 5k/hour.

Fishing -> npcing the fish at mid-levels can still pretty reliably get you 15k/hour. More if you're willing to synth the fish.

There are a lot of 'not quite H' NMs that drop 30k-ish gil if you kill them solo with +gilseller hands and /thf or thf.

There are also a lot of non-stackable craft materials that NPC for 800-1200 gil.

if you have a blm go solo apollyon NW. on a good run you can make 30 coins, and even selling them at 18k each will get you 540k

Everyone and their dog is crafting. It's getting really really hard to make money through it, and once you find a niche it'll likely be gone the next day.

If you go this route, work in tiny amounts. Do one or two synths and have them sell before making more, because the market is darned likely to change the next day.

Amazingly, I get a good amount of my weekly cash through Assault drops. Go go go Hi Pots +3 and Crossbow +1s!

You should just farm beastman seals on a low level job like Monk, and then get yourself a good bard and some rangers/warriors and spam BC40 steamed sprouts. I've got a link to a good video on technique, let me just dig that up...

Best fishing is probably for Coral Fragments.

That's what all the cool gilsellers do. http://www.ffxiah.com/player.php?id=858046&sid=5

Whenever the gilsellers fishing up fragments get banned, the prices skyrocket. 30k a fragment is pretty crazy in this economy, but people need their RR items.

Which KS30s do you duo? I've been duo-ing desert swarm with blm + rdm but the drop rate on anything decent in that shit sucks ass :\

0/5 on any of the 4 money items...
