How I mine for fish? (making money in poor economy)

I have a mule in each city and two in Jeuno. Buy cheap stuff in the cities, sell in Jeuno/Whitegate for a small profit. Not much on each sale but it adds up and keeps me in pet food and bananas/tacos.

If I need to buy something big, I just BCNM/KSNM with some of the 400+ BS and 250KS I have from leveling BST.

What are the clamming profits like, anyway? What are the "good" items worth? Only like 5-10k or like 30k+?

My friend made a tool too keep track of your clamming bucket, so you can trade it in before it breaks. You can see all the possible results there.

Coral frags are one of the items you can get, and depending on your server those go for 20-50K each at the moment.

All this talk about clamming makes me want to go again. Too bad it's such a long-ass boat ride to get there...

You should just farm beastman seals on a low level job like Monk, and then get yourself a good bard and some rangers/warriors and spam BC40 steamed sprouts. I've got a link to a good video on technique, let me just dig that up...

Back when emp pin, :Ni, Erase, and leaping boots were very rare to see, this is how many people earned those items. That video was one of the first NA videos that really gave a practical strat to earn gil in the game. I remember watching that vid many many times and I kept thinking, "damn why didn't I listen to more techno before."

just wondering, i'm poor and don't get on much except for limbus which is really killing my money, since I don't have a lot of time to farm anymore...

I took the long long boat trip (45 minutes >< ) to go do some clamming, and it was 100% not worth it. I did 20 runs, 500g per clamming kit, and grand total I made under 5K. I got one elm log (sold for 4,500) and the rest was vendor trash.

Maybe it was a bad moon or something, but between the time it took to get there and the crap I got, it was totally not worth it.

K, I'm glad my experience the other day was not inconsistent with yours. I think I made out a little better than you - a couple 1.5k maple logs, a 2k petrified log, and a (then 9k, the next day when I got around to selling shit 5k) HQ crab shell, but yeah... Meh.
You'd think for a blm with 70 int I'd be able to spot those igneous rocks, realize they've broken my bucket almost every time I've picked them up, and not pick the fucking things up, but nooooo.

Do this about 100 times then you'll have enough KSs and BSs to liquidate it into cash from various KSNMs and BCNMs that drop loot that sells fast/high.
