Merit PTs with or without BRD

Ok, I was wondering what the difference in xp would be between a pt of 1 RDM 1 BRD and 4 DD versus 1 RDM and 5 DD. A few things to account for:
RDM would slow down the pt considerably if he/she could not keep a haste rotation and keep cured all 5 DDs without having to make the DDs stop.
BRD pt has more consistent pulling. Could this be countered by having the RDM cure, haste and pull? I know I could potentially do this, as long as the DDs aren't nubs who take tons of damage.
We are assuming that all 5 DD do equal damage and aren't accounting for variations between groups.

So essentially the question comes down to whether or not the bonuses from a BRD are equal to the dmg from a DD. Keep in mind that for in order for that to be true (assuming that all the DD hypothetically do the same damage) the BRD would have to increase the damage output of each DD by 25% (25% times 4 is equal to 100%, aka the 5th DD's damage without the BRD)

Anyway, I'd like to see some parses if possible to the damage of a group without a BRD and with. Just wondering if this could be as effective as a pt with a BRD, because as I'm sure we all know BRDs aren't exactly a dime a dozen. Thanks for your help.

I would also take into consideration pulling. 5 DD's running around killing may actually be slower than a very good BRD landing them in camp consistently.

I recently did a merit party RDM(me), BRD, MNK, MNK, NIN, THF. We got Chain 77 in Nyzul Isle, and had the NIN been a WAR I think we could have gone farther, but had the BRD been a DD, yes, I think it wuold been hindered. I'm no parser, but I do know my limits. Refreshing 1 is nice, but hasting 5 + curing + na spells + running around would not bode well on the chains you can get with a very good bard.

A good bard puller is priceless. When I xp bard, I have the next mob waiting right where the current mob is being killed, so most of the time the DDs just autotarget the next one and its a constant stream of killing.

I don't think a RDM would be able to do all the curing, hasting and pulling as well as a bard could. Who would want to ? That sounds horrible

agreed, mostly because it takes a lot of weight off the puller and double march + double min is fucking killer.

also some xp mobs hit hard and if you were pulling on RDM you'd be taking a beating. BRD/NIN is just too good for pulling (especially on colibris that reflect)

If you're going RDM + 5x DD, I sure hope that RDM has a shitton of MP.

Maybe if the DDs all make sure to bring /nin and aren't lazy about keeping shadows up.

    Until the bards Hordes. :/

I agree with BRD, BRD though, if you can easily find two.

Don't underestimate Sharpshot and DRG in Greater Colibri camp. Had two DRG in one pt and netted a really nice xp per hour and other pt I was on PUP, cleared all the birds in the lower level constantly
