Not to say it doesn't drain a lot of gil.
Huh?!? CoP is 2 years old. There is NO reason that you don't have CoP done by now. That is a flat lazy-ass statement.

I have ran a Limbus shell that has gone twice a week for 13 months. We have people that come and go as they get items (we aren't linked to a HNM) or as they run out of money.

But, we always have new players waiting to take their place (Your newbs that JUST got sea and now realize they have a 90 day wait or so before they will ever see a piece of Homam/Nashira).

So yay for the dedicated players not being able to attend anymore due to lack of funds so we can replace them with the newbs that we have to re-teach.

In this economy there is no doubt that dynamis and limbus are 30-40% overpriced.

You can still make gil. It will be a hardship, but you have to do your part.

Dynamis and Limbus are not over priced (in this economy), when they were originally released in the begining, they were.

Alot of players players struggled economic wise to join a dynamis ls when dynamis was introduced. Depending on how many showed up, each person would either spend 20-35k per run, and back then that was alot of gil to sacrifice just to learn and experience something new.

When the economy took off, crafters became richer, in turn ls's became richer, in turn lsmates/the playerbase became richer, all the economic limits SE placed on Dynamis/Limbus became an after thought.

If you are a good ls, with good players, and are very experienced and have been doing the same end-game/events routine for 2 years, it is second nature to you, and your to a point spoiled.

For some players gil making isn't there best achievement in a game due to many reasons, started late, joined after the inflation or deflation, rmt, no new resources, old resources dried up or on there last breath, etc.

Most players need to understand that they have to adjust to the new economy, and gil-management should be there priority, because they have to figure out where they should invest there gil into.

Some players have a good-nest egg, some farm gil day to day to get by.

All I'm saying is either f'n adjust or stop BMW'ing (bitch-moan-whine) about things being pricy, when in turn they have been like that for 2-3+ years

CoP was done long ago, I'm the not your average player.

A lot of what you are saying makes sense, too bad it just isn't the case.

Though a lot of people do Dynamis, a lot more than Limbus.

Limbus was overpriced? Ancient beastcoins started off at 200k a pop and went up to 500k

And I held onto all of mine and bought a Brutal Earring rather than selling the 75 coins for 400k each. I figured I'd sell them after getting what I wanted out of them. I have a habit of making missed-opportunity financial mistakes like that...

Honestly, a lot of the breakthrough or new findings happens here before some tard in alla posted it claiming it was theirs.

Good things come out of this site.. it's all the moaning that makes it difficult to see the good stuff around here..

I think that's kind of unfair. You were offended when people bashed your site over the actions of one admin, but it seems your most recent posts bash everyone on BG over the actions of the most vocal complainers.

I thought BG and the wiki were working together. You just got a very skilled admin from BG, a member who wrote the best damn parser out there right now. He's not the only one here doing great stuff for the playerbase.

Don't take this post as an attack, because I think the Wiki's the best source of FFXI info there is. It filters every forum out there into an easy to navigate database, free of drama. OK, yea, sometimes you get the edit wars but overall if you surf to the Wiki, you'll get the info you need.

Behind the scenes is the testing and trial and error and grinding that a lot of BG users do. Why do you think the place implodes on itself during updates? Everyone knows that .dat info, pics and recipies are going to pop up here first. Go to Alla during an update and you'll invariably find links to BG threads, anxiously waiting to see what's coming.

Every site has idiots and flame wars and bitching and moaning. You just need to understand where they're coming from. You have some snide comments like Mifaco who basically... likes to make snide comments, but you can't apply that to everyone.

A lot of these players are pretty jaded after years of being ignored by SE, and see softball questions as being pretty lame. In the politcal world you'd get the scathing criticism interviewing a government official in such a manner. However, it is understandable that when you go to hang out and play games with SE you're not going to punch Sage Sundi in the sack, you're going to be buddy-buddy. The problem is you don't get to FFXI Summits by having tons of 75 jobs, you get there by managing Pikko's Pots or building an Encyclopedia so naturally your interests in the game don't match the hardcore players and they end up disappointed.

I lost track of where I'm going with this, but basically there's reasons behind "bad" posts and it's not always stupidity. Bottom line, imagine there were a function for these forums where after you wrote out your post and hit Send it erased it and you had to retype it. It would eliminate tons of the brain-diarrhea you see all the time. But people are emotional and you have the ability to show everyone your anger online because who the hell else wants to listen to you.

I hope you get my message and that I didn't inadvertently offend you.

Without BG, alot of the wiki would be full of misinformation still, let him laugh all he wants Elmer.

I think BG won't be a premiere site because a) They don't want it to be, and b) I don't think FFXI would premiere a site that has a topic like this : http://bluegartr.com/forum/viewtopic. ... &start=240

Does damage and laughs at you.

Considering all the potty mouths and pictures of nude women(see the Fuck or Duck thread for the best of both worlds), why would Square Enix ever link to that? That's why BG will never be a premiere site. The moaning has nothing to do with it.

You forgot that there's also no ads to RMT sites.

Yeah I don't see BG forums ever becoming a premier site. Too much real talk and titties tbh. But if SE is really concerned with good community relations, it wouldn't hurt to extend some of the same courtesies, I guess. Let's face it, BG is the best discussion hub for veteran players. Wiki is awesome for indexed info, KI has some nice discussion especially in job specific forums, and alla appeals to "special" people, but BG is where you have high traffic and good discussion among the most veteran, loyal, and generally more intelligent players.

I wonder sometimes if SE realizes how top-heavy their playerbase is, because some sites aren't very indicative of it (sup alla).

Actually it seems like there are a lot more new people on alla than there used to be.

Maybe in the last month or so there have been a lot more newbie questions being asked. I mean things from people that clearly indicate that it's someone just starting up, not just returning players asking what's changed.

To me it's a hopeful sign that the game will continue, and I think indicates that things like assault, nyzle isle, salvage, anti-RMT efforts, etc. are actually being effective at making the game more 'casual friendly.'

Remember when Ondori, Pneg, Berticus, and Bikkwin met with Sage Sundi and Matt Hilton? They didn't get that meeting because Square had never heard of BG. BG is a fairly popular site, and there is good and bad that comes with it- I think that the good far outweighs the bad and day of the week.

No, http://www.bluegartr.com is never going to be a premiere site because BG as a linkshell doesn't want it to be.

P.S. If you still have a problem with us after Sonomaa went to great lengths to try to smooth things over, you don't have to read this site. And take all of the information that we have helped to gather off of the Wiki.

Alla created "End Game Forums" for all the level 75 and HNMLS's that use them as their definitive source for info.

I think the most interesting thing about our discussion was Sundi’s reaction to our Millionaire Desk question. We asked whether or not the Millionaire Desk had any hidden traits like treasure hunter or hq+. His once calm demenor suddenly turned to a cold, peircing glare, the kind of haunting stare that only a man driven to the brink of madness would be capable of. He muttered something in Japanese to Mocchi then stood up and walked slowly to the rain-speckled window. Lighting a cigarette and staring into the night sky he slowly took a drag and let the smoke caress the cold glass. He then walked back and quickly drew a gun to Mocchi's head. His hand over Mocchi’s mouth he stared into my very soul, as if daring me to provoke him to paint the wall with his brains and said something else I couldn’t understand. He then answered our question by saying, “no comment”.

Alla created "End Game Forums" for all the level 75 and HNMLS's that use them as their definitive source for info.
And BG created Newbie Forum for all the zam-type threads and posts.

However, the BG newbie forum has turned out to be a nice source of info and myth-dispellers for newbies and veterans alike. I'm not too sure what Alla's "endgame" gets out of their forum, though. I always figured Alla's endgame consisted of level 60s, endgame gear being full AF sets, and endgame activities being Journeyman level crafting.
