the answer to that question is easy, it's a PS2 game first. so the PS2 standards are the norm.

    ---

if they make an easy way to get to Whitegate from Jeuno or the 3 starter nations, people will gtfo and that will fix the lag. if they put it in the 3 starter cities, it will put a lot more crafting materials back on those AHs. high level equipment were never sold in City AHs on my server either.

the popularity of Whitegate is one of the best and worse things to happen to the game.

It is possible that ps2 could be limited to 6 lines per macro, so the system doesn't puke all over itself, and other systems can use more (I still don't get how 6 lines per macro is a problem for a ps2. Is it ok technically, but they're too lazy to implement a scroll bar so players with low resolutions can see past the 6th line?)

And one could invert your argument: "Why should the game be unnecessarily limited for PC/XBox players just because SE can't figure out how to not crash a ps2?"
Or that it's intentional game design. You have 60 inventory slots and six lines per macro, so learn to manage limited resources.

That said, I'd personally like to see more lines per macro. I take with me more hMP gear than I actually use.

and just STFU now if you are going to say ps2 limitations because the ps2 should of fucking imploded in 2005 or everytime theres a new 1k+ file update if this was really the case
They used it as an excuse in an interview once? about mog safe expansions, which is kinda true since ps2 does have some problems displaying a shit load of things at once. It could do it though, slowly. and by slowly i mean an extra 5-10seconds
Why should we STFU about a PS2 limiting the way we play a PS2/PC/X-BOX game?
fixed for the order they came out in.
maybe you didn't realize but pc is not the only system.
    you sound like a nazi
Why should we STFU about jews limiting the way we Nazi's live.
PS2 players are not ppl? are not skilled?do not have a right to play the game?

I GUESS SOME PPL WILL JUST NEVER FUCKING BE HAPPY AND SHOULD QUIT ALREADY

AS FOR ME I AM HAPPY PLAYING ON MY PS2 THANK YOU VERY MUCH
Your thoughts must get derailed more often than the threads on this board.

How did you leap from complaining about limiting factors on a multiplatform game to make a connection to the Holocaust? All we are saying is fine, the PS2 is limited. Why purposefully limit PC players? In terms of macro space, draw distance, graphics filtering, GUI among others? Look how long it took/is taking to get windowed mode.

What's next? How bout the unfair advantage of you PS2 players that own a keyboard versus those that play controller only?

But for people complaining about transportation between the 5 major cities, with the Olduum ring and Shihu's brother, it's so easy, even if your home point is not in Al Zahbi (although it does suck to have to wait for the ring's delay). Then add gate crystals, supply quests, and staging points, transportation has never been better.

    Oh, and

I said i have been too lazy to get the ring...even so its a 24 hour recharge....which means near instant transport to Al Zhabi (Lol still a fucking long walk) is only once per 24 hours while its readily available to other places.

And hyes the transportation has never been better.

Well, think about it this way, getting the right drops is like getting a Ridill or E. Body, not common but it will happen. I mean, how many Fafnir's do you kill that just have N. Legs when you don't need them? The way you go about getting the gear is different, but the appearance rate of the gear (completing an item) is probably on par with Kings.
True. But if you want to use Nidhogg as an example, his abjuration lot pool consists of. . 4 items. N.legs, Dalmatica, K.Body, E.body. Sometimes he can drop 1, sometimes he can drop 2.

I'll explain it. Even when killing the Arrapago chariot, you can very easily kill a couple of Qiqirns on the way up, since they take 1-2 minutes. In fact you'll probably want to just for some extra cells and to try to steal from them. And those same Qiqirns give you a chance at lvl35 drops. Since you get a shot at lvl35 drops on your way to the chariot, they probably didn't think it fair to give two lvl25 drops.
I suppose that's one way to look at it. I understand the logic (you also have to take into account the fact that you can get level 15 pieces just farming subjob cells) but even with the level 35 drops available, there's no denying it's a shitty drop rate, and a shitty zone overall. I just don't see why they can't bother making that chariot consistent with all the others. Am I missing something there -- does he have a smaller drop table than the other 3? If so I *might* understand, but it sitll seems silly overall.

People overemphasize chariot drops, yes it could take a few kills to get the lvl25 item you want, but it's not like they'll be dropping nothing ever. (unless you DoT kill them unclaimed -_-; ) It's the bad drop rate on the lvl35 pieces that are going to limit upgrading speed the most. For the quality on some of the pieces, the effort to get them are certainly worth it. And this before people have even gotten a complete set and found the set bonus strengths.
Don't get me wrong, I think the drop rate on some of the level 35 pieces is absolutely retarded as well. I don't think everything should be 'gimme gimme gimme easy' but you do have to admit the drop rates on some of that crap is utterly ridiculous. It doesn't diminish my enjoyment of Salvage (anyone in my LS will tell you I'm an avid supporter of it) but I suppose I worry more for the people I'm helping obtain gear for, and them getting frustrated.

So we should tell people to suck it up and quit complaining? That won't fix the problem that the transportation suggestions have been trying to fix, which is 500 people hanging out in Whitegate, and trying to encourage them to be in Al Zahbi, Jeuno, a home city, Tavnazian Safehold, a new zone in Al Zahbi, or wherever.

People will idle where it's easiest and most convenient to access every service (including transportation), and that's Whitegate for 90% of the player base. They will then continue to complain about the lag. From a business perspective, telling your customers "Don't be lazy!" doesn't work from a business perspective -- you have to anticipate they will do what is most convenient and plan accordingly. SE failed to realize the popularity of Whitegate as a base of operations, and now we are trying to come up with non-hardware altering solutions that will alleviate the problem.

    PC/Xbox360/PS3 graphical upgrade expansion

It worked for EQ, made it a much prettier game, old PS2 players can continue with their "legacy models" and users with weaker computers can keep the legacy models too. New armor will look basically default on legacy, but all custom on the updated user interface. I know this is possible, why havent you brought your game up to the next stage in graphical prowess.

But doing a Salvage is not as hard as Nidhogg, as difficult to claim nor as rare as a Nidhogg. You get one chance to claim Nidhogg a week~ and then a chance at the drop. Its a different system, and how your time is spent getting the gear is different, but the total time is comparable.

There are people that have figured out the drops for at least one very good group of upgrades. Basically here is the thing, Salvage is hard, really hard, and it will take some time for upgrades, but it is possible, and much more possible than many people originally thought. The gear is on par (I will probably be screamed at for saying that) with the Abjuration gear (some is better, some is worse, but that is the same with abjuration gear) so the difficulty should be on par. Imagine how hard gods and Kirin were 3 years ago, think about how hard Salvage is now.

As a PS2 user, I really wouldn't care if they did that last "legacy" thing, btw. As for macros failing, I've had them not work when I try to hit them too rapidly, but otherwise sounds like bad order in your macros. I'm a gearswap whore, and can't say I ever recall finding out later I was Tping in one or two bits of Str gear because the whole set didnt swap.

Besides the drops in Salvage the cost to enter is way too high. Sure if you can play 7 days a week in an assault static, you are good to go. I am trying to get away from having something scheduled for in the game every day of the week. Two Dynamis, Two Limbus, thats four days right there, then add a day in for assault to get the salvage points and a day for salvage itself thats six days, then add in anything else you wanna do small NMs, HNM, sea, sky, and the week is way too full. I'm tired of just sucking it up and playing by their system, did that shit in sea killing DRK IX'Aern 62 times to produce what, 7 JoLs, fortitude 32 times for one torque, it was rediculous, sure they finally changed it now a year later. I'll wait a year for them to change the entry fee before getting into it.

Didn't DAoC do this too recently? I'd love to see a graphics upgrade for the newer systems that can handle with it. Reflective water, glass and armor (where relevant) would be especially welcome.

I've seen this same kind of arguing in other threads and I never agree with it. You need 3 people to do Assaults, and there are several assaults that have 15 minute time limits on them and good AP rewards. Chances are on those nights that anyone does Dynamis or Limbus or anything else, they can find 15 minutes before or after the event to do an assault. And finding just 2 people to go with you should be simple. I'm not going to bother talking too much about this because it's been beaten to death. 2k AP really isn't that much, and it should take 30 minutes tops to get enough AP to do one Salvage.

Go here http://www.bluegartr.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=16528 if you're not sure on good ways to farm AP. And you can go here http://www.bluegartr.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=15073 to argue about it being too much AP.
