The intro is kiddy, of course. It's a game set in a Chocobo land, how are they going to fucking make that seem non-kiddy...??? You're really an idiot if you thought you were going to turn on a game called Chocobo Tales and were expecting some epic mind-boggling mature story based on birds.

Anyway, I stayed up til almost 6 a.m. playing this game. I got to chapter 3 of story mode, and it's really good. I kind of thought of it as Wario Ware but with FF touches. All you do pretty much is go around trying to save the wolrd by playing minigames, and the minigames are all FF versions of Aesop's Fables. So far I've played through the tortoise and the hare, jack and the beanstalk, and the ugly duckling. There are trial modes and battle modes for all of these books ,and you have to beat everything to get all the best stuff from the book.

Then there is the card part, which takes forever but it's still pretty cool. To get good cards you have to play even more minigames which are all really fun, but some can get soooo frustrating. Like in one you have to blow into your DS to make this hamster float and you need to collect 45 items to get the best score and it just...it's so hard lol.

But overall it's really really fun. You just have to get over that first 5 minute story-mode hump. That's basically how long you have to wait until you go into the first book and begin playing the minigames.

You didn't play it enough. It is a insanely fun game and likely the best use of the Chibi-Chocobo IP yet. I hope it sells really well so more of Chibi-Chocobo makes it into games, we never did get the really fun GBA game.

I just got it yesterday, got sucked into playing for 3 hours. I bought it cause it had the words "Final Fantasy" on it, and it had a card game. The mini-games did not disappoint and tilt into "almost impossible and addictively frustrating" on harder challenges.
