Anyways.. Since my team forfeited their playoff spot, I'm going to be cheering for the NY Islanders cuz they have lots of players that play with heart: Smyth, Blake, Bergeron to name a few. Also Ted Nolan is a great coach.

I always hope a canadian team takes it this year, looks like Vancouver has the best chance. Awesome offence and an awesome goalie.

I also have a feeling Crosby is gonna get injured, someone is just going to lay him out good this time. They've tried before (Blake's Spear, Neil's Dive, etc.)



If I had to pick a winner now, I'd go with New Jersey.

The only thing I hate about Crosby is how announcers fawn over him while calling the game, often to the detriment of people's entertainment value.

Buffalo was shutting down the Pens (and especially Crosby) last week and still every other word out of the mouths of the fucking Versus announcers was about Sidney Crosby.

I agree that he's amazing. He's the next big thing in hockey since Gretzky, but damn, announcers need to stop sucking his cock during the game so much, even when he's getting his ass kicked.

My parents grew up in buffalo so I've been a sabres fan since I can remember, I cried when BRett Hull put his fucking foot in the crease and scored

Since the canes pulled the normal routine (kick ass one year, suck ass the next), I guess I'll pull for the sabres just to see if winning will stop them from whinning for an entire year.

I laugh every time I hear people make up these horror stories of Buffalo people who came down to North Carolina. People like you make us sound like fucking barbarians that came down from the north and raped your women and gutted your children.

Seriously...it's not hard to figure out that there were probably a few drunk assholes, fans of BOTH teams, that acted like a bunch of goons. Let's not generalize about everyone from Buffalo.

I came down for Game 5 of the ECF and had lots of great conversations with 'Canes fans. They realized we weren't all bad.

And if you think we were bad, I invite you to come up to a Sabres/Leafs game and see the busloads of Toronto fans coming from Canada. They would put your Buffalonians in Raleigh stories to shame.

My favorite story about last year's hockey playoffs (in fact, the only story I remember) was where a radio station was able to get on Ticketmaster (or whatever its equivalent was) 2 hours before tipoff of Game 7 of the Hurricanes-Sabres Eastern Conference Finals and find tickets available.

Maybe if the Hurricanes had sold out, there wouldn't have been so many Sabres fans to bitch about.

That being said, every team in every league in every sport has its fair share of hooligans and idiots. Just because they are rooting for (or against) your team doesn't mean they are any more or less irritating than your team's fans in the exact same situation. Rooting against a team because you hate "their fans" is kind of delusional, because I guarantee your team has its own share of stupid fans as well.

Now, hating a team because your annoying colleague Bob is a huge fan who talks a lot of shit, that I can understand.

i'm kinda suprised thats it, well what seat range? my season tix cost me $40 per seat (in the 300's) and i think for the opening round I'm already paying $70 per, I'd think I could easily get $150 each, though theres no way in hell id even remotely consider doing that.
