That's because everyone is exploiting the "freedom and equal rights" part of America. Both people out of the country coming in illegally and people on the inside using outside sources for everything.Originally Posted by GRT
I think if(when? zomg) America falls it'll have more to do with the illegal immigration issue than any war. All powers have died from the inside, each one had their weakness and failed to correct it in time. The weakness of our system is being exploited to its fullest and if we don't start to crack down and alter things a bit we're going to lose a large part of who we have always thought we were. If that means I have to agree with a psycho like O'Reilly once in a while, I'll accept that.
This poll needs a vote for "Neither"
Bill O'Reilly is a raving Psychotic, so I voted Geraldo.
O'Reilley or Geraldo? Unless rabid wombats shred them both to tiny pieces I'm not watching the video. They're both fucking worthless, each in their own special way.
Illegal immigrants caught comitting crimes are usually kept in the country (depending on the offense) so that justice can be served. In a case like this, I'm sure the family would feel better (?) knowing that the man responsible for the death of their daughter is in jail, paying his debt to society for the crime he commited, whereas as if he was deported, he would most likely just walk around freely through the streets of his home nation like nothing ever happened.
The US has nobody to blame for the immigration issue but themselves. 30 odd years ago, immigrants, illegal or not, were welcomed into this country with open arms. They were(are) as seen as cheap labor (the illegal ones), and now that there seems to be a surplus of cheap labor, it becomes a problem, either A, because there aren't enough open spots for all the illegal aliens to be fit into, or B, because Americans are losing their jobs to equally qualified illegal immigrants who are willing to do the same job, for less. It's a smart move, but surely pisses a lot of people off.
P.S. O'Reily is fucking nuts.
Yeah, the over 200,000 illegal agricultural workers in California are self-destructing the country by filling an essential role in a 28 billion+ industry. I'm sure you hear the 9 billion figure regarding the taxpayer burden of illegals, but 7.7 billion of that is figured from education costs for the children of illegal immigrants.... even though over half of the children are U.S. citizens, making that figure really fucking dumb.Illegal Immigration is called thus for a reason and is outlawed for a reason: it will self-destruct a nation.
The issue at hand is someone being killed by a drunk driver. That driver could've been anyone from anywhere. It just happened that the driver was an illegal, so we hear about it on the news and O'Reilly has something to go apeshit over. The guy committed a crime on our soil on which he wasn't allowed to be in the first place, so I can't see the problem in punishing him here to make sure justice is served in a matter fitting to where he committed the crime.
The people saying this is about illegal immigration are missing the point. The point O'Rielly is trying to make is that an illegal immigrant was convicted of previous felonies and not deported. If he had been deported then this tragedy would not have ocured.
thats a nice assumption lol, if he got in the country illegally once he'll do it again. id rather him serve his sentence on our soil under my bill, THEN deport him... better safe than sorry.Originally Posted by SwampdonkeyPLD
the only difference i see with illegals is not giving them parole or probation. youre already here on false pretenses so you dont get our citizens courtesies.
1. Is he serious? Lol, you are fking crazy, sir. Nobody, NOBODY, regardless of creed, colour, or political stance has the "right" to commit a crime. Seems like like that nut of Billy has swayed his target audience <_<Originally Posted by Demosthenes11
2. Laws (some), were meant to keep order and to prevent "chaos," if the individuals within these laws fail to follow them, they are punished. Nowadays (around the 60s-70s, some "Mexican-Americans" among others were deported because of the colour of their skin), Illegal immigrants pay for their crimes just like any other citizen would. These laws (excluding immigration laws) do not change because the person is documented or undocumented, sir.
3. Undocumented immigrants when they become legal residents pay a $1000 fee for crossing the border illegally. Just like any other individual has violated a law and paid their fee. Hence, those that say, "oh noez, they are violating our laws blah blah," while violating laws here (I have, damn speeding tickets ; ; are nothing but hypocrites ;o
4. *Last, only because some are 'laws,' it doesn't mean they are just laws. Do I really have to take out the big guns (halu Jim Crow Laws)? They were laws, but were they just laws? How do they say?.... AMIRITE???
*This one is to clarify that some laws, not immigration laws specifically, are not fair/just only because they were passed.
Jail is too nice, the scary part of jail is dealing with the other people, otherwise you aren't "paying your debt to society" it's free room and board (ok ok I know it's not that nice). If we had convicts doing the jobs the lowest of the illegals do, that would be paying their debt.Originally Posted by Alvinho
The problem with illegal immigrants in our economy is that they don't pay taxes. If those jobs were given to people who did pay taxes, there'd be millions of dollars back to the government from it, it's not like we need more things to hold us back financially. As well our country still has unemployed people, no illegals and I can bet you there would be fewer unemployed citizens. It's an overall more stable system without the illegal immigrants, they're only hurting us. You want in this country, do it legally.
1. Nah, they do pay taxes and they don't get anything in return lol (US born kids do). The IRS came up with an ITIN number designed specifically for people w/o a valid SSN to pay taxes lol (read:for undocumented immigrants). If some of you are wondering how the hell I know this stuff, well, I help them do their taxes because they get taken advantage or don't speak a lick of English. Kinda scary how the BG audience is uninformed about basic things lol ;xOriginally Posted by Eaglestrike
I don't see how that works Meteora.
If the company is paying a mexican less than $5/hour to do work.. how are taxes being paid since it is illegal to pay someone that little? The big problem around here is these mexican crews coming in and bidding on jobs way cheaper than any legit operation can do it. We couldn't pay our workers that little if we wanted to.. it would be against the law..
Yeah, except someone else was probably killed by a citizen drunk driver the same night but Bill doesn't give a shit about that because he can't turn it into xenophobic propaganda.Originally Posted by SwampdonkeyPLD
No, the problem is that US employers keep hiring illegal immigrants. Unemployed citizens won't do the jobs illegals do and/or won't do it for the pay illegals take for it. Why do back-breaking manual labor in the summer for 4 dollars an hour when as a citizen, you can collect welfare/unemployment? The reality is that US employers keep offering attractive opportunities (sadly, shit pay for manual labor is attractive to some people from bad parts of mexico with families to support) to illegals and they'll keep taking them.Originally Posted by Eaglestrike
Stricter enforcement and stronger penalties for employers is the way to go. When it no longer is profitable to run the risk of hiring cheap, illegal labor, employers will seek legal employees they have to pay legal wages and in turn, the employees will be paying taxes.
Lol, you have to understand that these people don't work for an hourly rate. From the sweatshops I've visited they get paid for piece, I think it was 10 cents per piece. These sweatshops open around 7am to 6 pm. Then, they are given bundles, each containing like 60-80 pieces, thus completing a piece of clothing. Some people concentrate on the sleeves, others, well it's a mess, they are assigned specific machines to complete the piece (I remember overlock, overstich, etc. lol). While beginners simply cut the threads of the finished product. They have a fixed sallary of a whooping 150 per week lol.Originally Posted by Devek
At the end of the week they get around 200-400 bucks depending how fast they work, remember, they get paid per piece. I'm not going to tell you about how they don't have AC during the summer, or even fucking water to drink lol. Sometimes it does piss me off what some people say w/o even knowing wtf is going on there. Let me tell you this, it's really, really sad.
Now for real, have fun with the topic, I'm out \('-')/
i just want to know why its so difficult to file the correct paperwork to be here. just fill out the fucking papers, and welcome
Cue ignorance.Originally Posted by Artful Dodger

The whole immigration system in America is extremely elitist. We are only willing to open the doors to people who are way better than the average American either in wealth, social status, or academic achievement/degree. That's the way America empowers itself through "immigration."
cue the millions of others who have successfully done the process by getting a job and not committing crime
^LOL
Do you know the percentage of "legal immigrants" who were at one time or another illegal or weeks from becoming illegal? (ie student visa, travel visa, etc)
Unless you fit the crateria I mentioned in my previous post, you go "back door" the legal system, about 25% of them get lucky and get in, the other three quarters became the illegals you hate so much who other from being unlucky are no different than 90% of the "legal immigrants" you don't seem to care about.
Do me and everybody else a favor and look up the defination of "amnesty" and how that term is being used in the government.
I bet your right, but, was there some underlying issue? Did they have prior drunk driving convictions and the judge was leniant? Were they an illegal immigrant convicted of prior felonies? No one, including Bill O'Reilly would give a shit about that because no one would watch it.Originally Posted by Beckwin
It's so ironic that you claim scare tactics when you throw around words like racism and xenophobia like nobody's business. Those are the worst arguments for this shit I've ever seen, especially since I am a first generation american, and I believe O'Reilly is as well
