Anyone get the xbox 360 pc controller working with ffxi yet?

same as topic title, I installed the software and I'm having problems setting up the controller. Anyone have a button # layout (like what numbers are the LT//RT/triggers in the FFXI controller setup?

ok so I tried doing a button layout but I'm still missing the last two triggers. I can't find which numbers are these bastards so I can access my macros.

When you say you installed the software what do you mean? The microsoft stuff? or XBCD? If you're using the microsoft stuff try the links Isiolia
posted in this thread http://www.bluegartr.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=17724. After you install it you can go to the setup utility and it lists all the buttons along the bottom of the screen. Change RT and LT to button 11 and 12 or whatever you feel like and you're in business.

Just a warning though, if you're not already using it the default on it mapped a few of my buttons different from what you have listed. Don't forget to change them.

Edit- Forgot to say, in the setup utility there's a tab called 'windows'. I think it's defaulted to 10 buttons so if you change RT and LT to 11 and 12 you need to up it to 12+ or it won't recognize them. May have to restart after, forgot sorry.

xbox button doesn't work on the PC, it says it in the manual. Game doesn't matter.

Also, the triggers aren't mapped from the out-of-the-box software.

    I have mine setup as:

    A - confirm
B - back out (escape, whatever)
    X - same function as +
    Y - menu
    Left Joystick - movement
    Right Joystick - camera
    D Pad - menu navigation
    LJ press - heal/lock
    RJ press - change view
    Back - Autorun

    Forget left/right shoulders and start

I vaguely remember a 3rd party driver for that issue... but I was able to setup all the USEFUL buttons without using the two lower shoulder buttons. <shrug>

I've set them up now, but it's kinda out of the way. I used my left shoulder button for autorun, and the right one for the vent button, they were extremely out of the way and easily pressable, now I have to actually put effort into it.

I uninstalled the old drivers, installed these ones, but the old ones keep coming back anytime i plug them in after installing the new one.

Am I doing something wrong? I'm going to the device manager and clicking uninstall and all, did it at least 3 times now, nothing's changing. I can't install the new ones for some reason.

even in the same usb port? Did you try deleting the old files then install the drivers? Other than that, it's another example of Windows stupidity ><

yeah what i'm doing is uninstalling (with the controller plugged in), then unplugging when I hear the windows USB noise, then installing the new drivers.

If there's a step i'm missing i'd love to know

    edit : found a fix - http://matt-land.com/xbcd/x360.mp4

i'm having a pretty horrid time trying to get this to work properly with vista.

basically i can't get the xbcd setup to work, and i'm pretty sure it's because i don't have the right .inf file.

anyone have any experience with this on vista?

    thanks.

unfortunately i guess i didn't read closely enough. seems as if these drivers have no support for wireless, which is what i'd been trying to install.
