Hulk can survive a nuclear missile at point-blank. In fact, it makes him stronger afterwards because he absorbs the left-over energy. I'm not sure if nuclear missiles were ever used in DBZ, but I can't think of any beyond Goku, Vegeta, and Buu would survive the blast.

Even Vegeta at the very begining (where his max power was about 18000) can one shot planet from his finger like no fucking problems, you know shitty nuclear missle cant blow up whole fucking planet, but Vegeta's finger can! Honestly though, 52 is about 10 times the comic that Civil War will was. It is amazing that they can keep putting out a comic every week that is such a consistently good read filled with plot twists and turns. I just wish that they would stop killing likable characters. >_>

The thing with destroying planets and stuff is a big part of the difference between DBZ and almost every other fictional universe I've seen. Apparently, in the DB universe, anything without ki of its own can be cut through like paper by an energy attack (the first time someone blows up the moon is before they can even fly). Any crossover with DB/Z/GT has to bend a lot of rules to make stuff work, or just ignore then altogether.

So uhh, I haven't read comics in many many years (elem school), I know basic abilities of the main heroes but that's it. If I wanted to get into the big storyline going on with some backstory, what should I be looking to read?

Also relevant is the first Avengers: Illuminati one shot (which now has a five issue miniseries going, too), which features Reed Richards, Iron Man, Namor, Professor X, Black Bolt, and Dr Strange deciding that Hulk is too dangerous to keep around and planning to shoot him into space.

Honestly though, 52 is about 10 times the comic that Civil War will was. It is amazing that they can keep putting out a comic every week that is such a consistently good read filled with plot twists and turns. I just wish that they would stop killing likable characters. >_>

Not to mention that it's actually consistent, rather than riddled with continuity errors like CW. Now I just need to catch up on the last 20 or so issues of 52, as soon as I read all of Morrison's run on Animal Man >.>

That's entirely likely; I know Xavier is in the book but I don't remember the precise timeline.

I only recently started reading comics again and the only X-book I'm picking up is Astonishing, so I have no clue how Xavier's been written.

I didn't read House of M but I've gotten the gist of it from talking to people: Scarlet Witch goes crazy, puts everyone in their own personal universe where all their dreams come true, eventually they start to break down and people realize their lives aren't real, no one likes Wanda any more, something happens, and suddenly 99% of the mutants in the world are now ordinary humans, including Wanda. Xavier and Magneto disappear. Remaining mutants are put in a reservation at Xavier's School, surrounded by Sentinels... to protect the mutants.

The treatment and shitting all over Xavier is one reason I gave up on Marvel back in 2001. Now I just stop into the local bookstore a few times a year on a Sat, buy a iced coffee and catch up via trade paperbacks.

I knew they were gonna fuck with Xavier from the end of "Fatal Attractions" on and damned if I wasn't right. I didn't know however they would take one of the best stories done in years, Giant Size Xman #1 and retrcon it to pretty much toss 15 years of Xavier's image out of the window. I mean can't comics have just a few 'good guys?' Why must everything be fucking shades of grey?

This is why you don't do anime/comic cross overs, you get fomey at the mouth DBZ/Naruto/Bleach fans who ride in on their EVA's and get all hissy fittted. The second reason is they just don't match up. If your gonna toss Marvel Characters at DBZ ones, you have to get the retarded level ones, like Phoenix, the Celestrials, Death and her family, Living Turbural, etc. As all of the Goku/Vegeta clan are mortals, just really stupidly strong ones, Death could reach out and deal with them all, but hell by the end of GT, Goku is gone forever anyway and most of the full blooded Saijins would be if they died again anyway, your left with lolers like Pan and whatnot who would be more reasonable matches for Hulk.

Is he the guy who did/does the most recent X-men? Because Xavier's fight with the Danger Room was sick and awesome.

I will never say Civil War is better than 52 , 52 is sooo awesome, but I'm a bit hurt by it. They killed one of the coolest characters in all of DC, the Question. ;/


EDIT: Oh I know Vegeta can blow up planets with his finger, but if Hulk is 5 feet away from him, he is likely to be ripped in half. Hulk's strength defies science. Not to forget, Vegeta would be standing there like an idiot, 'chargin' his lazer.
