Handicapped Parking

This dude at my work has a nice and shiny new mustang and parks in a handicapped spot. I thought this was a little odd and thought maybe he was being a dick because he thought his car was too nice to park amongst the normal people.

Sure enough, the guy has a handicapped card up on his mirror. But honestly, what handicapped person drives a mustang? Don't they usually drive a van to accomodate their handicap?

I mean, his fucking license plate says GOALIE4 for Christ's sake. I saw him walking from his car to the office door and I didn't see any noticeable handicap. No limp, nothing.

So what the fuck is this bullshit?

Easy solution: Just run him over with your car, that will give him a limp.

The "less fun" solution: Call the cops and have them deal with him.

I don't want to exactly accuse this guy of not being handicapped in some way, but if you can walk from your car to a building without the aid of a walker or a wheelchair I don't think you should have one of these parking passes.

If its the hanging tag its prolly not issued for that car. He most likely got it from someone else. People see the handicap tag and just assume its for that car.

Roomrate had a staff infection in his hip. Had to have surgery and completely fused his hip bone to his femur. He cannot bend his leg at that hip. When he walks around, you would never notice it unless you were looking for it. Had a handicapped sticker. There are tons of examples, i'm sure that's not the only one. Again, don't be so quick to judge. And don't give me that shit saying they can only have certain cars. That's just rediculous. Also, pregnant women should get handicapped stickers and/or make pregnant parking (some places already do).

But other examples include asthmatics and such who have trouble breathing or people who can't be too active for some reason or another. Or, as Miji said, someone who has the responsibility of driving someone else around who does have a handicap may have a card for them.

You know guys, it's not the most unreasonable assumption ever that a person who deserves to park in a handicapped space would not be driving around in a mustang.

Nobody is saying handicapped persons can't drive mustangs, or other sports or luxury cars, but how many truly handicapped persons actually do? Statistics are in favor of a person driving a mustang not "actually" deserving to park in the handicapped space. It's just statistics.

My old man has major problems with his right knee. He's pretty much got no cartledge(sp) left in it, had something like 6-7 surgeries on it. He's got a handicap parking thing for his mirror. When he's walking short distances you wouldn't be able to tell anything's wrong, but if he walks a decent amount you can see it start to bow out a bit and he starts to walk with a nasty limp.

I tried searching for a handicap thing on Ebay once, but no luck.

When my friend and I first got our license we always took his father's car who was handicap, and we always parked at like the first spot at the movies and the mall and stuff, so awesome.

Also, my friend tore his ACL playing soccer and got a handicap parking tag for a year. He was perfectly fine after about 3 months but parked in the spots for a year.

To get handicapped parking access you need to have a doctor fill out a form and send it to your state where it is accepted or rejected. If accepted you get like 2-3 tags. One for your vehicle, and spares for like when you might ride with someone else. This guy probably used a spare.

My judgementalism is based on a few circumstancial facts and inferences.

From my perspective it looks like a guy who has a nice new car and prefers to park in all of the empty handicapped spots at our office so cars next to him don't ding it up.

His license plate says GOALIE on it...which leads me to believe that maybe this guy plays some ice hockey in his spare time. If you can play goalie with a handicap, maybe you can walk from a normal parking spot to the office. He has no noticebale limp when walking from his car to the office door. Leave that space for someone who really needs it.

Really, I'm not trying to be a dick about this. I just think given all of those things strung together that maybe this guy is taking advantage of the system.
