Better idea, you study hard, pass your exams, then get drunk for 72hrs, then it's LJ time, k?

Deal.
Minus the study part, I like being the asshole that doesn't study and still aces it.

Thanks BG, you have shown me the light. I can upgrade from being a wal-mart mnk to being a TJ Maxx mnk.
You're probably at a JC Penny monk now. I think that's better then the shitty TJ Maxx mnks.Originally Posted by Mifaco

Once you done with kick merit, you can't imagine wear anything else in merit party at all
Mnk a dot job and dune boot will make your dot rlly better than fuma or anything if you bother do kick merit.
With the regular 2 brd 1 rdm 3 DD pty, i never get to go /war but only /nin(still going /war for dynamis and limbus  ).
So as mnk/nin, kick is my double attack who give me extra TP, kick merit with brutal is really very noticeable, and with haste +22% already and a march+ haste spell, i rlly swing fast and get TP nearly as fast as a axe/ridill war (martial art <3).
The dune boot by themself are a crazy weapon, dmg +30 is just O_O, and when you crit for more than 210+ dmg with a kick while destroyer can't break 200 dmg, trust me you happy to wear dune boot
For ws, another story, if no rse like me as galka, well AF2 for extra dex or attack+ boot until a chance on salvage or Nyusle island feet equip.

Now, without being to directly parse kicks, it's hard to really know for certain, but most of my kicks without Dune boots are pathetically low (30-40ish), and with Dune boots, I frequently have numbers above 100. This may simply be a result of only noticing the 100s and the 30-40s, but I do pay fairly strict attention to such things...![]()
It isn't difficult to observe dunes doubling and sometimes tripling your kick damage.
I can't say I know the math, but such a drastic change is easily noticable.
Even if it has a limit on paper, it's obviously more powerful in practice.
Incidentally, how exactly would dunes being an H2H weapon for kicks lower its added damage from 30 to 27?
so uuh, im thinking of leveling MNK.
Do i use Dune Boots for WS? i'm Elvaan, previous posts stated change to RSE when WS, how about Elvaan?
You could use Rasetsu Sune-Ate (Attack +5), Temple Gaiters (DEX+3), or Melee Gaiters (DEX+4).
I am currently leveling Monk (53 atm) and really loving it. Seeing I am Mithra, and not being able to find any good info about the lvl51 Kung Fu Shoes and lvl 66 Wulong Shoes, is it worth getting those 2? I know I am getting the Dune Boots, because I know those are really really good.
I am using my RSE feet atm for the +3 STR, worth changing for the Kung Fu/Wulong Shoes?
Kung Fu/Wulong will likely do more for your damage over time than 3 strength, but I always thought that until you get your final Kick Attacks trait, kick boots weren't entirely worth it.
Correct. If you wanna dump your cash into something, it should be fed kyahan until dunes.Originally Posted by Obev
Dunes (wulong, etc.) do not affect weapon skills....no, not even Dragon Kick.
Strike Subligar at 60 has changed that thought, IMO.Originally Posted by Obev

i have to disagree Dense, before kick attack II lvl 71, you aint kick that much sadly, as i said in my post, i rlly begin to see dune boot shine when i was done with kick attack merit.
While we on Monk foot gear anyone figure out how exactly Melee Gaiters enchances counterstance?
I just assumed that he was talking about before level 71, since after 70 there's a whole bunch of good equipment for monks to wear. 60-70 though, your choices are kick boots + strike subligar, federation kyahan + republic subligar, or "I'm elvaan, I'll wear pants, thanks".Originally Posted by tylerz
