Yeah, once you equip a piece of gear it's considered "Soulbound" and you can't put it up on the AH. _Everything_ in WoW is vendorable though, with the exception of event items and the like, regardless if it's soulbound.

For the Christmas events, for example, you can get an item that turns your mount into a raindeer. The item was "Binds on use," meaning when you used it, it was considered soulbound and no longer AH-able. But they were pretty stupid anyway, and if you AH'ed the item before using it, people would sometimes bite for 5 or 10g.

What's also funny is that people can just cook those cookies instead of buying them on the AH also for like...5g+ <_<

Vendorable like, selling to an NPC like in FFXI for an insanely reduced rate, or is Vendorable the FFXI equivalent to bazaaring?

Everything in wow is set to a certain price in vendoring.. like certain greys(useless items) would sell for 1g and/or less

like selling to a NPC, they give you enough money for the insect wings and puk wings of this world to get buy on day to day consumables (mabye not raid consumables) but it's enough to get by on.

That being said comparing this to a relic or a Ridill is laughable, it really dosen't take very long to save up the money for one, in 6 months time it will be pretty LOL to not have one which will never be the case for Ridill or Relics.

I personally doubt I'll ever get one, I'm in the running for a netherdrake from arena but I know I won't have the riding skill if/when I get it, I may go ahead and farm for it if I get the legendary, otherwise I'm almost certain I'll never bother with it.
As far as the relic comparison, I just figured that one was appropriate because it is far and away the most expensive thing in the game.
Oh and btw it's the riding skill that's 5k the actual mounts range from free for certain reward ones to like 400 to buy the normal vendor ones.

The comparison would be something like instead of getting 14k gil for npcing my ridill, I'd get 750k.

Money in WoW can be very hard to get if you don't know what you're doing. It's mostly time investment. Unlike FF where you need to claim X NM or run a BCNM, money in more plentiful in WoW, in the sense that you can sell almost anything for money. Towards the higher levels it's *good* money and this extends to quest rewards too, it's not so much getting a quest, running all over the damned place and coming back for 300gil and a copper ore. While the quest reward may still be crap, it's worth money and in the end you get xp too (if you're at max level and can't get xp, they give you a gold equivalent instead, at level 70 this equates to ~10g/quest, I believe)

The difference: While money is more 'plentiful' in WoW, there are some rather insane cashsinks that 'everyone' takes part in. Example - Epic Flying mount. Consider the earlier analogy that 5000g is equivalent to 15 million gil. Consider the 800-1000 level 75 players that are on at any given time. If each of them has their epic flyer, in FFXI terms that is equal to 12-15 billion gil taken out of circulation. A year or two ago, that may have been a non-issue, EVERYONE had money. But now?

Edit - Ridill...I'd say closer to 50k, Xavier, but all items are like that then, like those crappy scrolls you get off goblin WHM's? 20-25k to vendor, and higher droprate.

When a grey utterly shitty thing npcs for over a gold, I don't think 50k for a ridill is an accurate comparison. IDK, maybe I'm thinking pre-deflation.

Comparing the forms of Gil by RMT rates is proving to be inaccurate. It takes far less time to make money in WoW period.

It is the most expencive item in the game by far, but thats because pretty much all of the best gear in the game is the equivilant of rare/ex. as somebody who still plays both, comparing this to 15m Gil is a complete joke.

some greys sell for more than a gold, some even 2-3g. greens vendor for 2-9g. misc random crap in stacks can sell for a couple gold as well.

But take raiding into consideration. I'll spend 30g in one night on mana pots; 10-15g on super healing power pots; 60-70g for one flask for 25 mans every other night; 20g repair bill from repeated wipes on whatever new boss we're learning. One night of raiding = 120g+

Not including needing enchants, gems, etc, it sucks to save up 5,000g unless you don't raid.
