The red field around Rollo seemed to indicate his Geass has an affect area around him. Geass obviously affects how the brain works, but so far we've seen eye contact and the one the psychic had which didn't (iirc) need eye contact at all. So naturally you can assume there are different methods to affecting the brain that don't have to be based around close/eye contact.

as for the episode one thing, I'm not sure. maybe he had already used his geass before the explosion and wasn't anywhere near it.

Possibly, and yeah. I know the field-effected area is his Geass range. It makes sense, and plus... it's red and random. Not much to argue about there.

So I just finished watching Gundam 00 and I was wondering if there are any other Gundam shows that come close to 00? I watched Wing when I was younger but didn't get it or like it at all (probably because I was young) and I never really had an interest in Gundam until now.

What ones are worth watching and what ones should I stay away from?

Most people like SEED but not SEED destiny. Wing is good for what it was, G Gundam was kinda cheesy, Zeta Gundam and Double ZZ are probably ones that should be seen.

I didn't care much for Gundam ZZ. Series was meh. In terms of style and story, I don't think many of the previous Gundam series really come close to 00. Myself and some others said it earlier in the thread, but Gundam Zeta, 08th MS Team (yes, I know some of you think it sucks. Make sure to state you do) and Wing. I mean, you could check out 0083 if you wanted to, but I'm kind of on the fence about the series.

On a different note, what do people think of Macross Frontier so far? I'm sort of swaying back and forth with it right now being as the first anime I ever saw was Robotech: Macross Saga. The progress it's made from then to now is stellar, but I'm not sure how much I'm really liking it just yet.

why 08th MS team suck? lol. it is good. You can give V gundam a try too, the last few episode will make you tear non stop.

turn A story quite good too, in term of story, but not the gundam, especially the ending team.
