Anime Thread. [Prob not 56k safe]

I didn't care much for Gundam ZZ. Series was meh. In terms of style and story, I don't think many of the previous Gundam series really come close to 00. Myself and some others said it earlier in the thread, but Gundam Zeta, 08th MS Team (yes, I know some of you think it sucks. Make sure to state you do) and Wing. I mean, you could check out 0083 if you wanted to, but I'm kind of on the fence about the series.

On a different note, what do people think of Macross Frontier so far? I'm sort of swaying back and forth with it right now being as the first anime I ever saw was Robotech: Macross Saga. The progress it's made from then to now is stellar, but I'm not sure how much I'm really liking it just yet.

I think macross F is edging it's way into my top 5 of all time, based on the composition of the battle music alone at this point. Macross is an amazing love story / mecha series, there's no doubt in my mind that the romance side of Macross F will be a very potent and moving theme, and will probably hook some of the people who are on the edge about it.

Everyone likes a good love story, and if you don't, cocks.

I don't like any of the groups subbing Macross F, all suck in some way. Although I haven't downloaded the AonE-Gekkostate-Menclave version yet, but they are slooow.

And yeah...the subgroup beside the AoNe-Gekkostate-Menclave just fucking sucks in comparison.

I always liked AonE and Menclave obviously. Who's Gekkostate? I know the Gekko State is from Eureka SeveN, but as a group.. what are they known for? I'm sure they have quality subs, but for those who want speed, I doubt you'll get it from them. I don't mind that either. Their stuff is mainly for archiving purposes anyway. Still awesome they are all grouping up to do Macross F.

Just watched Kure-nai episode 3 again, yep - best anime this season and probably the best single episode of a show I've seen in a long time. And it's only the 3rd episode...

Just watched it on the fix, myself. I'm not as heavy on dubs as a lot of people are. I don't go "Argh argh /hate/hate zomg not original" or anything, so I'm a tad bit more fair to it.

My thoughts... Bosch's Lulu wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it may be. I have to give him credit. He got the snarky, sarcastic tone down pretty well. I have to wait until I hear Zero, as it should sound different than Lelouch, but here's hoping for the best.

Other characters like Viletta, Jeremiah, Suzaku, Clovis, Lloyd, Shirley, and Milly were all pretty good too. Shirley's voice wasn't as bad either. People say she was gonna grate the ears, but she sounded pretty cute, as she should. Crispin's Jeremiah sounds a lot like Holland, which in this case fits it perfectly. Lloyd was great. I <3'd Lloyd's original, so nice to see this isn't butchered.

As far as the translation goes, it resembled that of the fan-sub closely. While I know the fan-sub isn't "official", it's usually closer than a lot of dubs out there, so it was pretty decent. Not a Cowboy Bebop level dub for sure, but pretty good for episode 1.
