The cliffhanger did fail, I'll say that. I just feel as a whole the new episodes fit well.

One thing... how can Lelouch have a permanently active geass, but somehow hide it while he's at school? I must have totally missed that part somewhere.

A couple episodes ago C.C gave Lelouch some contact lenses that can block the current stage's Geass.

Which me brings me to something I forgot about, whats up with his tiny contact lenses? It's like 1/4th the size of his eye and he like takes it on and off as it were nothing.

Wish I could put on contact lenses that fast, lol.

There's no subs for download atm, I just know a guy who writes up the scripts (only gives them to like 3 people, one of them being me obviously) for these suckers and maek meh own subs (when I feel like it).

We've never really shared them (so don't ask), and frankly, they aren't very good... which is why I download from the other groups even after using these.

I sort of agree, I thought CG was an exception and it tried to follow a more "realistic" feel for that type of age with mechs and whatnot until I saw Kururugi like run against a wall and kick down that automatic machine gun after like dodging 100 bullets with "0.05 Lag Time", I seriously went like "holy shit"

Oooo Thanks. I might check it out, but I'll probably just wind up waiting half a day.

Yeah, I'll just wait and get the Eclipse version for archiving.
(Plus, I think there were a couple of mistakes in the translated version I watched... I don't know enough Japanese to be sure though.)

Yeah don't bother downloading the WeWin sub of ep 5. It's absolutely terrible.

Contact lens that can subdue the geass given to him by C.C. at like episode 2 or 3

Wish I could use contact lens like he does....

    edit: old'd

Seriously, it pisses me off that lelouch was portrayed as this amazingly brilliant strategist, yet episodes after episodes on season 1, he's foiled by 1 fucking unit.

Let's not forget the amazing dodge bullet, spinkick and take off the goddamn bomb off his chest as if it was glued by some elmer, what a fucking way to resolve a cliffhanger.

I suppose the liquid sakuradite could have been just a bluff by lelouch that would explain a lot of things, mainly them not getting blown to shit when suzaku removes it. But it's still a really shitty way to resolve a cliffhanger.

Wait a minute... I remember multiple times where Lelouch "won" against Suzaku.

    - The place where they rescued Toudou when Lelouch was able to predict Suzaku's actions and he pretty much lost.

    - At the whatsthename Island where Lelouch was able to lure Suzaku to that circle thing where Lancelot was disabled.

    - In ep24 where Lelouch pretty much did the same thing to Suzaku again.

So, Lelouch at least won his fair share against Suzaku, it's not a one sided thing.

I suppose cliffhanger means a do-over with similar theme in Japan instead of finishing off what you started on the next installment.
The show ended on a climax, it's not an uncommon way to end thing when you have sequel. It wouldnt have lasted 24 episodes if they kept the same momentum, so they had to end it there and start a new arc if they wanted to make a second season. I dont see where you get the "do-over with similar theme" part, because that's not what they are doing. Not that much was reseted beside the memory of 3-4 school friends.

In ep 22, they were baking giant pizza after killing hundred of people. It's not too much of a stretch to see them go at school again in season 2.

The "strategist" part is what annoyed me the most. They make it look like the guy is a genius, but "turn left and shoot--> enemy unit disapears" is kinda retarded. That's not battle strategy, it's just magic.

Then he uses the harken boost and disabled like 2 of the gekkou and shit...

Though yeah, the last 2 was a "fair" victory on lelouch's part, but considering all that shit happened near the end of season 1 does put suzaku as a fucking annoying deus ex machina plot device on basically all warfare involving cornelia (and i guess clovis too, episode 2 and all) that made up the first 3/4 of the first season.

The "strategist" part is what annoyed me the most. They make it look like the guy is a genius, but "turn left and shoot--> enemy unit disapears" is kinda retarded. That's not battle strategy, it's just magic.
Though there are episodes that show his brilliance as a strategist, like the landslide on narita, and the aforementioned battle against suzaku on toudou's bust. Hell, even the whole collapsing settlement on episode 24 was one hell of a maneuver.

On the last part though, it's just Gawain bruteforcing the flying fuck out of the non-named character's enemy unit with Hadron Cannon...which is totally okay if not fucking awesome >_>
