He doesn't necessarily know that yet, lelouch had his back to suzaku so he couldn't see his facial expression. He will probably just play it off in the beginning of the next episode.

I can't fucking stand Black?Star...or maaka's voice for that matter.

But beyond that, I guess it's a pretty awesome series, if nothing else the action sequence is worth watching for.

Black Star is awesome, it's refreshing to see characters that are done a bit differently. Kid is also freakin' hilarious, though I've never seen someone with OCD in anime so maybe it's just novelty. Maaka's VA is pretty rough, but I like it, the way VAs sound is hardly something that will put me off though I can understand why people hate it.

But seriously, that's like the only series I'm looking forward to.

How is he done "differently"? He's like a fucking standard shonen headstrong character on steroid.

Kid's OCD is fucking awesome though, but the younger sister seem too stupid :/

He doesn't even have to be nice to her to care for her (which is what I originally said), but regardless of what Nunally wanted him to do he's doing it for her. So what if she can't see the reasons for doing it, whatever Lulouch is doing is for the good of the world. Difference being the method.

I keep telling myself that Suzaku betrayed his country because he did. If he didn't kill his Father Japan wouldn't have fallen so easily, and in killing his Father he betrayed his family and whatever friends he had (including Lulouch and Nunally who were affected by this change) then, not including the friends he betrayed in the current time. You can say it wasn't his intention, but who cares? He still did it and continues to do it, that will never change.

You may think Suzaku has better intentions and what not, but him and Lulouch are two sides of the same coin, never facing the same direction. You could call both of them obsessive (Suzaku in wanting to find Zero, Lulouch in wanting revenge) but thinking about it, Lulouch has never directly harmed or betrayed a citizen or someone who fights for him (iirc, haven't seen S1 in like 6 months). He might lie and he might manipulate but Lulouch's thought processes are much easier to understand and he's much more straightforward because of that.
You mean he never betrayed someone like when he blew up the ship and lied to everyone about it? Or when he is putting in jeopardy his mission simply to save friend? Looking at the face he made when Rollo joined him, I would say he is gonna betray him as well.
He wouldnt hesitate an instant to betray people if he could accomplish his goal, the only reason he hasnt done it too much is that he is trying to gain their trust to make an army. The show depicts him as someone who is manipulating everyone around him without any remorse.

You can believe what you want, but prepare yourself to hate the ending. Lelouch is not the good guy, Suzaku is.

I wouldn't call Suzaku a good guy either. You don't know what the Emperor's true intentions are and Suzaku looks like he doesn't give a shit anymore about the good guy stuff, he just wants revenge on Yuffie's death. Sure he plans on taking control of Area 11 and crap like that, but its most likely just a cover up story.

As far as Lelouch goes with betraying people and such, he didn't necessarily abandon his Order, he simply had more important issues at hand. People like Rolo deserve to be betrayed because if Lelouch doesn't act against those types of people he will most likely just wind up dead. In order for him to win against people like Rolo would could just simply kill him with Geass he has to befriend them and later strike them in the back.

Call it an underhanded tactic or a bad-guy move but I still see Lelouch as the good guy role with "different views" as how he handles it. I generally enjoy his style since it tends to stray away from the cheesy cliche crap that you always see protagonists do.

P.S. I hope they don't kill Villleta and if you all need a reminder why go watch the 15th episode of Season 1...

The whole center stage/I'm the star of the show thing is nice to see. When I look at Black Star as a whole I find him refreshing, his actions while seemingly typical strike me as something special. His whole self-centeredness (that even a word?) and speech are great when contrasted with the world and other characters around him. Besides, he's shown a deeper level of thinking and acting. In anycase, the characters done different was in regards to the majority (ok, mainly Kid) of the show, everything feels rather fresh.

But, then again maybe some people hate awesome? I would never understand.

I'm saying Suzaku's betrayal is why he can't take moral high ground on Lelouch, He's just as fucked up and has done just as many fucked up things to get his own way. Lelouch fights for what he wants and so does Suzaku, this isn't as simple as good vs bad as it is a case of one persons perspective vs another. And I would think there is a significant difference between betraying your enemy and betraying friends and family. The former being stupid on their behalf.

Suzaku is going to try to accomplish Euphemia's vision, he isn't going to follow the emperor's wish or his desire of vengeance. I would be ready to put money on it.

The opposite would surprise me greatly considering the type of personality they gave to the characters, and that Suzaku is still the same cheerful person when he is at school or with other at works. If they showed more of his "darker side", my opinion would be different probably, but it's not the case. Next episode however should give us a good idea of the final outcome tho.

We havent seen everything behind, but the way Suzaku and Lelouch feel about their mistakes is what separate them. Remorse is what make Suzaku the "good" character, and Lelouch the "evil" one. You can put them both in a gray zone if you want, but one is trying to get out of it, while the other is going down slowly but surely.

The analogy to death note can be made, since Light pretty much went down the same way. Good motive at first, but his action were mostly selfish, and his ego got him killed.

Pretty sure Lelouch has shown remorse over a lot of things he has done. He felt bad for a lot of people, but I suppose getting over it quickly and/or making the best of a bad situation makes him evil...

I guess I just can't see how refreshing or awesome his attitude is, since it's like a cliche characteristic of a protagonist.

He's like a lamer version of Balthier or something, claiming that he's the main character and whatnot. Either that or I've gotten to a point where I can't stand moronic character on anime...who knows. Let's just agree to disagree, since I don't think we'll reach any further agreement beyond that.

Lelouch feels every bit of remorse on the action he takes, but he just tread on his path of carnage since it's really the only path he can follow, his existence as Zero is no longer just that of a single man, rather an ideal for everything that stands against brittania. That's the only way he can consider himself "alive" after the speech that his father gave to him when Lelouch confronts him on why he didn't protect his mother.

Suzaku is probably the same too, he choose to walk his idealistic path, but he only have himself to worry about, his decisions and actions won't affect people in the same scale what Lelouch as Zero is capable of.

But who knows, maybe I'm reading into it too much, but I guess I'm just a fan of an anti-hero character. A hero who fights for an idealistic concept of justice is too boring after all.

Aren't we all? Those characters (heroes or villains) make interesting story for sure, but in the end, they will never win because the writer don't want to publish a story that condone murder and violence. There is a reason why those behaviors arent socialy accepted, even if they sound good in a story. Either way, it's Light's and Lelouch's ego that made me wish they would lose. I can't stand that type of person.

I watched Tower of Druaga ep 1-5 yesterday. It was good, but Sath made me overhype it. I feel like I've watched hundreds of animes like this before, but same could be said about most series.

Shinigami no ballad was really good imo. Watched it last night, and it was exactly the kind of depressing anime I wanted to see. Anyone know other depressing show similar to Shigofumi or this?

Now I actually want to see it. I liked Shigofumi a lot, especially the last few eps.
(Although, the end wasn't exactly what I wanted, but it was ok I guess.)

I prefered shigofumi (loved the cute side of the show), but both show definitively have some similarities. Only 6 ep btw
