I kinda want Lelouch and CC to live a normal life (they can hide on the secret island!), but a protoganist need to pay for his crime if there is innocent blood on his hands...unless you're in Gundam Seed Destiny, but that's not the reference in term of good writting. >_>

Nina is awesome, in a creepy way. I never saw that comming, even after she went crazy in the first season. If those spoiler are true, she is probably going to meet Euphemia soon tho.

And what kind of happy ending Kallen can get at this point? I dont think she will die, but I can't imagine a scenario where she wouldnt lose everything. Her only friend left is Lelouch, and it wont end well for him.

Justice prevailing often leaves an ill aftertaste for me, but then it depends on just how moral the ending is.

In regards to R2, the only main character I want to die is Suzaku. The idealistic fool irks my inner critic, if only he had died at the end of the first season. I can understand the reason for keeping him around, even so, he's such a waste.

Britannians and Cultists/Geass users make for much better entertainment. I might have had a different point of view if Code Geass focused more on interpersonal development. Alas, it isn't Legend of Galactic Heroes turned Regicide.

He's paying the price already. Euphemia, Shirley and now C.C (in a way). I guess you could count Suzaku as well. I don't think he needs to pay for innocent blood since in a way innocent casualities are part of the process. Both sides have racked up a kill count and if you think about it, Lelouch has (somewhat) inadvertantly saved loads of people as well.

Even though he's a selfish asshole he's still doing good and because of his actions drastic changes are happening. I doubt a diplomatic approach would even be considered for Japan or the numbers if it wasn't for Lelouch starting a whole lot of shit.

Generally speaking in classic story telling, a character won't pay the price unless he sacrifice himself for a better cause, or if he changes completely and spend the rest of his life trying to make amend for his crime. Lelouch's objective was always vengeance, and he is just suffering the consequence of his actions. It's not quite like he is "paying the price".

And just recently, Lelouch ordered the execution of the "geass" kids and all the unarmed scientist. It won't help his cause either.
