Oh shit! Action League NOW! (Meltman! With the power to... melt!)
I used to love that!
Anyway, I wish I'd have known about that poll.
Probably would be more funny if I was participating in it hoping for Clovis to come out on top to shock the people taking it seriously.
Never rely on the internet for something like this, it's almost always a joke. That said, I laughed at #1 and 2.
Seirei no Moribito - it's awesome. An adaptation of a japanese fantasy novel, I think the author has 11 or so out now. Easily one of the top 50 anime series of all time.Adult Swim's new anime in august;
Guardian of the Spirit.
Ive never heard of it. any good?
Yeah, but Adult Swim's tried stuff like that sort of hasn't it? Stuff like Paranoia Agent? They're already losing a ton of the audience anyway. A shame Sci-Fi doesn't do anime on Saturday and just take the rest of the audience.
"Nocternal: I’m working six days a week, and yes, it’s just me (I just got home, by the way). I’ll be quitting my second job when the Fall semester starts so I’ll actually have a little MORE time."
LOL I guess he is saying fuck his (one of the two) jobs >.>
Edit: and it's out! /downloads

Free is awesome.
have to roll the R
Paranoia Agent wasn't very good, IMO. Yeah, some people liked it, but I couldn't really walk away from the show feeling like anything really happened other than glimpsing into the lives others here and there.
Anyway, AS shoots themselves in the foot a lot when it comes to anime. I figure your average American doesn't have the attention span to wait 26 weeks or more to see a consecutive plot panning out. Combine this with airing at an ungodly hour for most people, or impractical for those with social lives, and it's not surprising their ratings "suck" as they say.
Weeknight airings of a new series, going straight through, would do wonders for them, I think. Have one in a premiere slot, then next month bump it back into a "second chance viewing" slot, then fill the other hour with some older shows they can also cycle out. They can run their "comedy" shit or more Family Guy for the first hour if they think that's what the anime fans give a shit about.
Far as Sci-Fi goes, until my local cable provider puts it on non-premium packages, I'd rather not lose AS anime. :/
Yeah. I wasn't saying AS was good at what they did. In fact, I basically swore it off except for Code Geass, and seeing as I've seen the "over the top" show as it is, I don't really have to watch that. I just watch for the dub, as it's not that bad.
I'm aware Paranoia Agent wasn't among the best shows, but it seems like they either go after the shounen/"popular" shit (Geass, Bleach, Death Note), or something completely obscure that no one's heard of. Back in the day when it was FMA, Bebop.. man. Now that was awesome. Now, [as] seems to care even less about anime (if that's possiible) and it's just hard to watch. They hardly have any anime bumpers at all. Hell, I think Big O got better treatment than stuff does now.
And yeah, I agree when it comes to the tmimes they air it at. Their comedy gets a ton of advertisements, and it's fucking awful. Other than Venture Brothers, they have nothing worth promoting. I've been sick of Family Guy for a while now, and I was happy they couldn't keep Futurama anymore. Was sick of the reruns.
Sci-Fi is okay with their anime. Only complaint is the large amount of commercials. (At least 4-5 breaks in one episode iirc.)
Not sure if anyone else watches Special A, but ep 16 was hilarious :D They need to have more episodes about the other guys, and not just Kei and Hikari.
So I remember reading about Denno Coil and I totally realized I had the torrent already downloaded. After checking it out I got pretty hooked, I'm already on episode 12 and I got to say the idea is fresh and original and each episode keeps me interested. I liked the comical ones with the giant Illegal Fish and the Beard infestation. xD
I loved that series. It is really hard to get friends into it by trying to describe it to them though.![]()
I know. I told my friend its pretty much this "advanced computer-age" style anime? Pretty much an age of technology I'd love to live in, those glasses kick ass.. ; ;
That's what I was saying a few pages ago. Fresh and original concepts, good characters, and awesome animation. Can't really ask for more. :D
Beard infestation had some nice part, but it's one of the few time where I thought they were pushing their "technology" a bit too far. I prefered the more serious one generally.
I would lie if I said I was expecting to like it. >_> I'm just glad now that took the time to watch it, because it was totally worth it.I loved that series. It is really hard to get friends into it by trying to describe it to them though.
