That way, C.C. and Lelouch end up together, thus ending the whole "Who does he end up with" thing. It's not like he's romantically involved with her since he can't walk (so the spoilers say), but yeah.

Either way. If they aren't real, then I just can't wait to see how we'll get trolled next.

Yep. Sounds like the ones a few of us saw. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if they were real as it sounds like the a typical ending for a series like this.

Maybe I just have a really cynical expectation of the fucking series, but it hasn't exactly done anything more than piss me off the past 2-3 weeks.

I don't think Do you remember love was done badly at all, then again I watched the movie only recently, wasn't that big of macross fan, and probably didn't get the epicry it had at the time. Triangular didn't have maaya sakamoto singing it, so to me that's inferior by definition, but then again, I'm just that fucking biased.

well, i watched the original Super Dimension Fortress Macross as a kid, so i didn't really understand all the complex relationships between characters back then, but looking back, it definitely had more depth than MF could ever dream for, and i can see where the hate comes from for the loyal original Macross fans for this series, especially for it being the 25th anniversary product

Never really did watch the SDF macross fully, and I was like 10 when I first watched it...so...can't quite say I really know what macross theme was supposed to be like.

It throws a lot of homage to the original series, like ranka's rescue from the vacuum the first episode, and the whole ozma's near death sequences.

Even drew a lot of parallel from each character, alto|hikaru, sheryl|that girl hikaru ended up choosing, ranka|minmay, ozma|focker, michel|max, klan|millia, brera|minmay's cousin etc

What I don't get is the series' obsession into showing flashes of alto in drag and makeup...

but ionno, personally i thought the ending, while superbly glorious, really rushed everything, and it felt like Kawamori didn't want to commit to any kind of finale and was just making fans buy future OVAs like all the other patronizing gundam anime supervising directors

pretty much a watched-and-deleted series for me, a lot of those lately

I did that too actually. Only series I'm keeping around atm is Xam'd (Since it'll be hard to find later on) and Soul Eater (because it's pure awesome). Frontier was a "Download in HD, watch, delete" thing for me. It sort of lost it's luster after a while.

Isn't the entire macross derived mostly from OVA anyway?

And considering the only other comparison to a full macross series beside the original series is the fucking piece of shit (IMO) macross 7, I'd say it's not bad at all.

It's nice that people clings to nostalgia and all, but when all is said and done, the director is gonna try to appeal to more than just macross fans. After all, the series need to make money, and frankly considering today's audience, I'm just fucking glad that they kept the love triangle a well...triangle.

I'd be more pissed if everything with tits grind their collective vagina on alto like every other romance series on the market.
