Anime Thread. [Prob not 56k safe]

The biggest issue I have with the show is that they didn't resolve anything.

Interesting, that was my biggest beef about the Macross Frontier ending ;o

A story need a morale, a main theme...something that tie everything together.

I'd say it's something along the lines with people's desires, the future instead of the past or the present...

I loved the ending, cried buckets, replayed certain parts 15+ times to cry more buckets. Srsly. Now I have to go to school tomorrow and cant talk to anyone about it (GODDAMN USELESS GIRLS WHO ARENT NERDY ENOUGH GODDAMNIT)

complaining is a form of discussion! I'm fine with complaints as long as it doesnt turn into bitching, or if the person says stuff like "this anime/manga is stupid". if there's no criticizing all there would be is praise, and this thread would only be about 50 pages long!

Well, I'm sure it was something along those lines, but many events served no purpose or didn't go in this direction. Both Suzaku and Zero kept talking about justice the whole time, but they never actually resolved anything or proposed a new definition. The whole school part that was completly ignored as well. Not that I usually liked those episodes...the show just felt a bit off without the comedy and fanservice.

I know some people will disagree, but it's the feeling I had while I was watching season 2. It's like they took a completely different direction somewhere, and gave us an alternate story. It would have been fine on its own, but you can't change that midway through a show.


Oh well, I'm glad it ended on a good note.

From what I got out of the last scene was that C.C. could converse with Lelouch the same way she used to be able to with Marianne, effectively allowing them to "be together." I may be off base though.

I could see this scene go both way really. They wouldn't put a cloak on the guy if they didn't want us to wonder who he is. It's a nice way to leave us with an open ending and make everyone happy.

Anyway, I'm glad I was right about Lelouch's "dying". I would have been really pissed if he would have been able to fix his mistake without making any sacrifice.

Btw, did anyone think about Spice and Wolf when they saw the ending?

Not finishing a story is a worse torture than having to go through one you don't like. It would be stupid to drop the show after 44/50 episodes because it took a stupid turn

But anyway, you won't hear me complain about the last episode. It was one of the best in both season.


Here is my fanfiction-like wish.


Episode 17: Suzaku meets lelouch, both fight but end up agreeing about something similar to the Zero requiem
Episode 18-21: They fight Schneizel who convince Nunally to eliminate her brother, and convince the black knight to change side
Episode 22-24: You get to see Charles and Mariane's complete plan, instead of the rushed version we got
Episode 25: Something similar to the "2 months later" we saw.

I know it won't happen, but I think it would have been more structured this way, and we wouldnt have to go through the rushed Emperor's plan, and Schneizel stupid's arc.

My fanfiction-like wish: Yaoi fangirls attack Code Geass like rabid monkeys and produce wonderful things to make up for the lack of nirokun-centered fanservice througout the series. Owait Just waiting on those scanlator people to work their magic :D

Doesn't quite make up for the suck given off by the last few episodes, but a good ending at least.

I'm gonna subscribe to the "lelouch is the cart driver" theory, too. It's the most obvious solution to the problem in my eyes. It's possible c.c. was being rhetorical, and it's possible she's talking to him through the world of C...but I dunno, something about those endings just doesn't ring true to me like him being the driver does. I definitely don't think he died.

Also remember how when people touched C.C., they would see her memories? Isn't that what happened when Nunnally touched Lelouch, showing her his true intentions right before he died? Doesn't that support the fact that he took her code, making him immortal? That's how it seems to me, at least.

True Lelouch was mention that he was immortal since he has the same power as Charles so maybe that thing with Suzaku killing Lelouch is just a plot by Lelouch to kill the symbol of hatred so he can live a quiet life with C.C and make babies

I wouldn't mind seeing some sort of "recap" episode from Lelouch/CC perspective that deal in details with the Zero Requiem, Ragnarok Connection, and the Geass in general, but anything else would destroy the ending imo.

I liked the CG ending but also wish Lelouch was alive in a more definitive way. I don't like seeing the main guy die at the end, but Lelouch did need to make up for all the death he caused.

I do believe things were accomplished though. Everyone who prescribed to Charles' theory of "the strongest rule the weak" died and everyone left were leaders of a democratic-ish organization + Nunnally now leading Britannia (I assume). Meaning that instead of a couple empires ruling the world with one in the lead attempting to take the rest over it's now like our current world and the UN with no middle east.

Haven't finished Macross Frontier yet, will probably do that one soon.

Thoughts on Lelouch and the ending -

Lelouch is obviously alive:

All Code+Geass users have initials that are the same letter, Lelouch Lamperouge is Rerouch Ramperouge in Japanese, aka R.R. aka R2, which makes the name of the series make sense finally.

Nunnally saw the memories he wanted her to see (so she would know he wasn't a bad guy) when she touched his hand. C.C. did the same thing to Lelouch in season 1, it seems to be an ability of code users.

Orange smiled when Lelouch was stabbed, and when the Black Knights+Cornelia (Who had all figured out that Suzaku was in the Zero suit by then and what Lelouch had planned) rushed in they probably smuggled away Lelouch's body while releasing the prisoners to a place that was safe for him and C.C. to make an escape.

In the wagon C.C. says "The Power of Kings, I said it would make you lonely, but that's not true..." and then she raised her head and said louder "Right, Lelouch?"

I'm sure the crane had some significance, just as a symbol of hope or proof that Nunnally is in contact with C.C. and Lelouch.

Was a nice ending, not as epic feeling as macross frontier but it was nice, kinda wanting to see some OVA, maybe explain a bit more detail etc etc or maybe CC and Lelouch wedding or something!

Even if he did survive, he could never show his face before his old comrads, friends or even Nunnally. That's still a pretty big sacrifice.

And Lelouch and Suzaku's plan pretty much eliminated war from the planet, everyone working together to create a world where you won't lose those important to you like they said from season one.

I think the last episode was pretty good. I dunno why people are complaining so hard, considering what happened before I thought it ended really well. The best episode yet for me.
