They may not, but it is Sunrise after all. They have been milking Gundam for 20 years now.

If lelouch did have the code, he'd lost the use of his geass, unless he can activate the code at his moment of death.
All I'm gonna say, even if this theory is right on the spot (which it probably isn't) the fact that half the audience didn't see the parallel until it's laid down like that, or drew the same conclusion from the ending (it's a fucking trainwreck, not deep philosophical) means it's a fucking failure of storytelling from sunrise's part, which makes the whole thing shit by default anyway.
It's nice that people goes through in depth analysis with the ending and all, but they did the same thing with evangelion, and it doesn't stop the ending of the series from being a "WTF JUST HAPPENED" scenario.
Well, we have to remember one thing. Charles only gained his code after he died/revived himself. Afterwards, he no longer had Geass, but before, he had the Dual Geass. Same thing with Lelouch. He needed to die before the code could be activated, and seeing as we never see him "alive" again in the episode, we don't know if he kept his Geass or not, hence the ambiguous ending and such. That's how I see it.
Yeah. It was nice to see Lelouch fail at time. There is nothing more annoying than a pretentious character who succeed at everything
It answers my question I supose. After all, she is Lelouch's sister. It's not surprising that she has an all-purpose remote controller like Lelouch.
I think he is overanalyzing this.
I mean, all those masks, stair, and distance symbolism were obvious from the start (seriously, I hope everyone understood the meaning of those scenes), but he is doing a bunch of jump to link think together.
And CGR2 is a trainwreck, because even the director admited it was one. I enjoyed most of it, but it still failled in the storytelling department in the last stretch.
[edit]
Lelouch getting the code from the emperor is an interesting idea, but I'm not sure it really matter if he got it or not.
Spoiler: show
^That's already been posted here, and it's not real.
In the flashbacks where CC becomes immortal, after it skips to the scene where the nun is dead, CC is also wounded and bleeding on the floor. In retrospect after what happened with charles, the nun probably 'killed' her to activate the code, thou I can't imagine that was even necessary from the nun's pov.
Also, one of the lines at the end of season 1 kind of lends itself to lulu getting charles code. He says something to CC like, "You won't be alone. If you're a witch, than I'll become a warlock." Probably didn't really mean anything, but it would match up nicely to them both being immortal.
Yeah. Pretty sure Lulu didn't feel he'd have to "die" at the end of all of this, but it did happen that way. He did "die" only to be reborn an immortal warlock, granting C.C.'s wish. I personally didn't feel she wanted to die. I just don't thinks he wanted to be alone anymore.
And so, lelouch and C.C become a pair of immortal, and one day they meet the witch yuuko for a cameo dimensional travel in tsubasa: reservoir chronicles, with their payment being lelouch's all purpose detonator, and grants the geass power to fai, to make him more than a useless kurogane sucking vampire...or something
I'd watch the ova/read that chapter.
off the subject of Geass... Anyone ever see Patlabor? mecha anime. not exactly sure what it's about. saw a box set of it at work today, pictures didnt look too bad.
while I'm on the subject.. I saw the funniest anime name ever.. "All Purpose Cultural Cat Girl Nuku Nuku" it's about a robot girl with a brain of a cat!
I liked how CG ended. /shrug
something I found funny:
Stolen from red255 on NMO:
The Code is the power of immortality, which C.C. has. The 98th Emperor of Britannia, Charles, has the Code. He transferred the Code to Lelouch while strangling him in episode 21. Lelouch wanted this, and he deliberately told Suzaku to not interfere.
However, the Code does not activate unless receiver dies first. This is shown when the nun kills C.C. after transferring the Code to her. Charle's Code activated when he shot himself. Here is one of the big misconceptions that most people have: The transfer of the Code does not involve death of the transferrer. The nun was crazy and killed herself after she transferred her code. VV was injured from the battle and died. So basically, after episode 21, Lelouch had Charle's Code (inactivated) and C.C's contracted Geass.
When Lelouch got stabbed by Zero/Suzaku at the end, his Code was activated. What supports this is that Nunnally got Lelouch's memories when she touched him, just like Lelouch did when he touched C.C. back in Narita. The only way this could have happened is his Code activating. This pretty much confirms that he has the Code.
Unlike C.C., and Charles, who lost their Geasses because the people who contracted them died, Lelouch didn't obtain C.C.'s Code and thus kept his Geass, while having the Code (which he obtained from Charles at the same time). Lelouch therefore has achieved CODE GEASS.
idk why but this part made me lol. all makes sense now doesn't it!
i cant understand anything in new souleater, the sub is so shitty ><
I too thought it was obvious he had gotten the code when Nunnally touched his hand and saw those memories, same shit C.C. did to Lelouch in Season 1. No other way to explain how she saw that unless she has a geass of mind reading or something, which is unlikely.
Also, the title of series is kind of relevant. Lelouch Lamperouge in japanese would be Rerouch Ramperouge aka R.R. aka R2 (this part of the series name didn't make sense till now). the three code users have names like that, C.C., V.V., R.R.
And as was said, Lelouch now has Code+Geass.
But when Charles and C.C got their Codes, they lost their Geass. What did Lelouch do so differently that allowed him to have "Code + Geass" as opposed to just the immortality of the Code?
(Assuming the logic works - which you can't say about this series >.>)
Charles got his geass from V.V. He then took V.V.'s code, and he lost his geass.
C.C. got her geass from the nun. She then took the nun's code, and she lost her geass.
Lelouch got his geass from C.C. He then took Charles' code, and...?
