Those suits do look awesome, even though they resemble the Knightmares from Geass.
Macross Frontier is awesome (so far). Watched up to 10 tonight, and I loved every bit of it.
The "movie" episode was played nicely...would have been lame on its own, but the reference to Macross Zero made it awesome.
Since I'm not really following any new shows this season beyond my usual Bleach/Naruto, thinking about going back to catch anything I might've missed in the past. In particular, I'm interested in medieval fantasy stuff. Genre isn't 100% important, though I do lean more toward coherent attempts at plot.
Things I've seen:
Claymore
Berserk
Moribito
Record of Lodoss War
Slayers Next/Try
Scrapped Princess
Louis the Rune Soldier
Possibly some more I'm blanking on, but those were what immediately sprung to mind.
Time for you to find a new genre, because there isn't many medieval anime left.
Only thing that come to mind (and wasn't horrible) is Spice and Wolf, but that's romance (and you probably want something with more action).
Yeah, seems like giant robots is usually where anime's at these days. Never really got into Gundam, but maybe I'll give 00 a try once this season's been going a bit longer. I know I've also liked sci-fi stuff like Ghost in the Shell or Outlaw Star. Total opposites, I know, but they both have their strengths.
Don't limit yourself to a few genres, a good story is always good, no matter what the setting is.Most animes mentioned in this thread worth a try, so just pick any, download the first 3-4 episodes and figure from this point if it's worth downloading the whole thing.
My personal favorite in the last 2 years are: Baccano, Code Geass (even if some part were poorly done), Death Note, Dennou Coil, Gurrann Lagann, Shigofumi, and Spice and Wolf.
I'm probably missing a few more series I enjoyed (didn't include comedy either), but if you don't know where to start, I think they worth a try. Or you could just wait for more reply from others posters.

And macross Frontier is still awesome if you want something else to watch (on ep 13 now). Macross Zero (only 6 episodes) was interesting too.
Spice and Wolf was definitely good, and I can't wait for the second season.
Started off awesome.. but the end was pretty shitty imo.
I really liked everything up until you start finding out what's up with Hakuoro, etc.
BTW, this has been bothering me...
Anybody in the know (/point aers), know if anybody is subbing the Zetsubou Sensei OVA?![]()
It's not sad, he obviously returns at the end. The visual novel clearly shows it![]()
No one that I know of personally. Let me ask around.
edit:

[ 10:50:26 ] [ &`House ] i vote that we do because it's awesome.

what the hell..
Yeah, anime is definitely the cause of everything wrong in this country. -_- It sure is worse than all that reality television on.
Menclave's 00 Episode 3 is out.
