The writing isn't what I initially complained about (while it has its flaws, it's not horrible). Actually, nothing in MF is bad, but some parts and some of the pacing is pretty fucked up. Again, from a straight up marathon perspective that might change (and honestly I'm not going to watch MF again anytime soon since I have the OST lol).

And while Ranka is a pretty solid character (bar the actions we've talked about so far) there are still things that bug me. Anyway, not worth talking further about it, since we've gone on long enough.
I personally can't see't see the flaw (or selfishness) in Ranka's actions here, but I guess I can agree to disagree. I should be studying right now, instead of rewatching complete episodes. >_>

Watching a love story weekly is probably the worst way to do it. That's probably why you (and many others people) had issue with the pacing. When you don't have a shocking plot twist every episodes, or some awesome actions scenes, it's harder to care about it.

    Yeah, it was beautiful.

Might want to check Beyond the cloud as well...it was similar I thought (5 centimeter was better imo)

I liked Beyond the clouds better, 5centimeter made me depressed for a while.

Well, I was talking about the animation being better, even if it was excellent in both.

No clue which one is better, but I enjoyed both. The narration and visual is what made those movies similar, but the story itself is miles away. One is a sci-fi story with some resolve near the end, while the other is a depressing love story with no conclusion.

Index just gets better and better. I love the animation, music, everything. The story could easily ruin that, but it seems to be advancing at a nice pace at the moment. I need to read the manga of the story that is supposedly better, but I might wait til the anime ends first.

By Beyond the Clouds do you mean "The Place Promised in Our Early Days"? That and 5cm both done by the same guy.

5cm was kind of depressing, but by the guys smile at the end he probably resolved to move on. Was still sad that they didn't get back together :<

I'm suggesting read the Novel. Indeed, the anime does skip alittle of the story and explaination, even thought it doesn't impact the current main story plot.

So why do some anime seem to have 3-4 different groups subbing it and then others only get 0.5 groups subbing it? Live-evil, though when they complete their work it is well done, has to be the slowest fansubber in the world currently but no one else is subbing The Daughter of Twenty Faces. Which I think is a good anime (and from what I just read on live-evil forums, may have a sequel coming?) but it's hard not going on a week-long wait between episodes...but a month or so wait lol.

I wonder if I'll be able to download and complete Nana before DTF episode 22 gets subbed. It seems likely, which is depressing, I don't like leaving animes sit for so long. Luckily DTF is unique enough for me to remember most of its details, it still takes away from the overall story.

You're lucky you weren't watching NANA when it came out, they like left it unsubbed for like 3-4 months when there was only a few episodes left, the bastards. : (

I'm a little late in picking it up, but how good/bad/meh is Seirei no Moribito?
Saw the first ep and I started liking it.

Also... anyone know a good Fansubber for Eyeshield 21 anime? The one I used to get from suddenly dropped out of sight and I'm stuck before the game vs Bando Spiders.

I "accidently" watched the first 2 episodes yesterday and liked it a lot (I thought I had the complete season on my pc for some reason >_>) . The setting and characters are completely unoriginal, but I still enjoyed the dynamics between the cast. No clue if it can keep up like this, but I'm sold for now.

It remind me of Tsukuyomi Moonphase for some reason. The whole thing was uninspired, but I loved the characters from the start and it made the whole show enjoyable.

Yeah, I think I enjoy Jin's reactions the most and the fact he isn't a total wimp who's ready to be trampled on. As far as situations go, he's believable and the rest of the cast are really fun to watch. I also like the animation and the art.
