Depends on the subbing group. I use Tadashi's, and his are normally out Friday or Saturday.

He did SE 29 pretty quickly didn't he? Tadashi (the only one I use as well) is pretty random though, from days like tuesday to sunday.

Ok I haven't read much of this thread (it's huge! I can't read all that ; ....but lately a friend of mine as well as myself have become bored with anime... we need something to spark our interests.

Lately I've been watching Minami-ke (recommended by a friend) and Shakugan no Shana was also recommended to me by a friend...both of which so far haven't really thrilled me.

I'm usually a fan of action based shows or the romantic comedy type~ Any suggestions?

How can you not be thrilled by Minami-ke? That was a hilarious anime.

Have you seen the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya? Lucky Star? Trigun? Gurren Lagann? Full Metal Alchemist? Mai Hime? Mai Otome (sequel-ish)?

Those are the action-based / romantic comedies I can think of. I'm terrible at remembering all the smaller shows I've watched though so I'm sure others will have like 20 more to suggest.

I just finished Spice and Wolf recently, and I know it's been suggested a lot already, but that's very good

Yeah, character's reactions are believable so far. Jin isn't particularly interesting on his own, but it's always nice to see a main character with common sense who isn't clueless about everything. Nagi wasn't as crazy as I expected, which is a good thing considering the "psycho tsunderer god" is overdone.

I can't say I like the animation/art much, but I don't care, it's just a bonus. After Macross and EF: Tales of memories, it would be hard to come up with something that impress me.

How can you not like Minami-ke? I guess you're not approaching "slice of life" anime with the right attitude, but that's fine.

Shana is never great, but try watching the show until you see the long flashback (ep 9-10 i think). That's where the story start to pick up in my opinion. If you still don't care about it, don't bother with the rest, because it doesn't get much better.

Maybe I'm missing something, but where the fuck can I find more series with a psycho tsundere god if it's overdone?

Unless you mean just psycho tsundere, which is agreeable.

Gurren-mother-fucking-Lagann, where romance is just a random plot device to kill an otherwise unkillable characters.

I'm a little late in picking it up, but how good/bad/meh is Seirei no Moribito?
Easily one of the top 25 anime, period.

Inukami? Spice and wolf? And you could stretch the definition to other character like Shana, who magically appeared in the life of the main characters.

It's hard to give you a list when we have no idea what you watched, especially when you didn't like two animes that people generally consider okay (shana more or less, but most people enjoyed minami-ke).

Here is a short list of the series I enjoyed the most in the last few years. With a few exception in the comedy category, I think they were good animes that most people should enjoy.

Action (and other anime heavy on plot)
    -Baccanno!
    -Death Note
    -Code Geass
    -Macross Frontier
    -Gurrann Lagann
    -Dennou Coil
    -Last Exile

    Comedy/Romantic comedy/romance
    -Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei
    -Excel Saga
    -Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
    -hayate no gotoku
    -Seto no hanayome
    -School Rumble
-Spice and wolf (you can't hate this one..i think)
    -Tsukuyomi Moonphase
-Oh! Edo rocket (I think I'm the only person who watched this anime, but it was well done >_>)

    Slice of life
    -Bamboo Blade
    -Minami-ke (relisting it anyway)
    -Lucky star
    -Ichigo Mashimaro

    Depressing stuff
    -EF: Tales of memories
    -Elfen Lied
    -Welcome to the NHK
    -Air
    -Shigofumi

and also, you may try Zero no Tsukaima if you like shana in someway.

And if you are addicted into Kugimiya virus, then you can try

    Toradora
    Hayate no gotoku

I didn't "miss" Clannad, I never watched it.

I wouldn't recommend ZnT to anyone at this point, unless they enjoy watching ecchi stuff. Season 2 and 3 are too different, and it's kinda frustrating when you want something closer to season 1.

Also, liking Kugimiya won't help you enjoy Hayate imo. The show was funny for many other reasons.

Wolf and Spice: good slice of life anime with a little oomph to make it a little more interesting. Horo is only dere, mischevious, but dere, no tsun at all (not like real tsundere female leads in more recent anime... yes I'm looking at you Nagi from HnG and Louise from ZnT <.<), you really cant help but like , and really love her once you really get to know what makes her tick.

It had some boring episodes but it also had some funny ones. Its a fun ep/meh ep type series.

On the subject of suggestions, everyone should watch Honey&Clover if you haven't. Still my favorite anime/manga of all time.

Yoko (inukami) was definitively on par with Kugimiya characters, and the context was similar. Horo, more or less, but she is still close to one imo (you know she like lawrence, but she never admits it). I could have listed Tsukuyomi, Kazoku Niki (never finished that series) or other show instead, but that's beyond the point

Anyway, my point was that most female protgonist who have magical power are tsunderer lately, and it's getting old. You don't have to read more in my post than this..it was just a random comment.
