I wouldn't recommend ZnT to anyone at this point, unless they enjoy watching ecchi stuff. Season 2 and 3 are too different, and it's kinda frustrating when you want something closer to season 1.

Also, liking Kugimiya won't help you enjoy Hayate imo. The show was funny for many other reasons.
I should have mention season 1 of ZnT, and it is the only season I have watched too >.>

Yea, Hayate is funny for many reasons, but after like half of the season, I start really hate it when the they try to add more neta into the story just because the author want to put the neta into the story.

Well the problem is they are doing a ton more shows per season than they used to, 30-40 new shows in some seasons. Vast majority of these are merely tools to sell more manga/visual novels/light novels/etc - very few studios do original work these days, Sunrise and BONES are a minority (Stuff like Code Geass, Xam'd, etc).

Although manga/novel adaptions aren't all bad - Toaru Majutsu no Index, Kannagi, Toradora and Skip Beat! are really good this season for example.

Of course then you have shit like Macedmia Wasshoi that pops up every season.

It hasn't really turned into a school harem/love triangle, cause I don't think Jin has to decide between one girl or another (or he could just be like Makoto and fuck everything that walks). Either way, it's still to early to tell.
Well, people still slapped "romantic comedy" tag on the anime. I must not be the only one who think romance is somewhat important in this one.

Dynamics between Jin and Nagi are still great, wasn't complaining about this, but the context lost a few points for now.

In the field of apparently-random-recommendations (maybe someone asked? i lost track), a couple of short shows -- Voices of a Distant Star...which is actually a short film, but very intruiging conceptually... Le Portrait de Petit Cossette, if you ignore the fact that the plot made effectively no sense whatsoever (which I think may have been on purpose), is audiovisually beautiful.

Some of those mentioned are way better in manga form, but Honey and Clover is one of the exceptions. I read the manga, then watched the anime, and I STILL like the anime better -- i think the format just suits the telling of the story so much better. Expect some realistic elements to form the main thrust of the show (there's typical JPTV Zaniness Factor, of course).

Negima... someone mentioned that both of the animes are terrible... too true. The author really can't get it animated to save his life. The OAVs (including the spring/summer ones) were decent but they still took too much from the anime while revolving around the plot of the manga, and the most recent OAV (first in a trilogy)... well, I heard somewhere (but can't find the notice now) that it was received by fans SO POORLY that they canceled the third one. Also, there's a live action version, and yes, it IS as bad as you can possibly imagine.
Part of the problem with Negima is that it can't figure out what it wants to be. Execs want it to be a harem comedy (written by the author of Love Hina, they wanted the same), but the author wants a shonen martial arts series. They combine... well, let's just say that it takes quite a while before the main character learns to throw a punch. So it's all over the place, and some fans want the harem and others want the shonen and I just think it's better than a reese's cup -- why have just one?! Sorry, one of the few things I'm a fanboy over.

Uh, I actually want to inquire about a series. I'm hesitant to watch it, I've listened to a lot of music from it and I love the music, but it's multi-medium adapted. PC Games, manga, anime, books... it's called Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni (i think?). I've run into references to it a lot, but I haven't actually had anyone say if it's good or not. Any opinions?

Yeah, Higurashi was good, but I thought the writting/pacing in 2nd season was bad. It needed more mysterious stuff and less "we are your friend" dialogue (Satoko's arc mostly).

I should give Honey and Clover another try. I watched the first season a while ago, but I couldn't care about the characters. No idea why tho.

I loved Higurashi and Honey & Clover. Although if you don't like the first season you probably won't like the second season... (I loved both season)

higurashi s1 had mediocre animation but amazing plot and creepy storyline that really set a new standard for horror series (not that there are many of those to begin with >.>)

kai had much better animation, but between it being the explanation of the whole series' universe, and the more or less slower pace, it just doesn't have the same feeling of creepiness the s1 had.

still an amazing series that i'd highly recommend though, if nothing else it's a good series to freak the shit out of anyone who doesn't watch animu much.

as for season 3, i dunno if there's any material left, it's possible to add the ps2 arc or some of the random manga stories, but as far as the main arcs covered in the pc game, s1 and 2 covered most if not all of it.

plus i really don't see a point of them doing that when they can be working on umineko instead.

I think part of the problem some folks have with Honey and Clover is that the relationship sequencing is a bit TOO... I hesitate to say realistic, but certainly down to earth. The relationships the characters are in are unapologetically messy, and... well...

    Spoiler: show
The fact that the relationships, in the end, HAVE no resolution can be very offsetting for people raised on entertainment medium which is built around resolving romantic plot threads (indeed, plot threads in general, but specifically these). But that's part of the point.

p.s. I'll be sure to watch Higurashi, thanks!

It was Hagu that was annoying me the most. I'm not sure if it's her character design or something else, but she wasn't interesting. The pacing was a bit slow too (except for the scenes with Morita).

Like I said earlier, I don't think I gave this anime a fair chance. I was probably in bad mood when I watched it, and was getting annoyed at thing I normally enjoy. I will download it again and watch the first season completely. I know what to expect this time at least.

Oh wow...Girls Bravo is like the worst anime I watched. Try Popotan, I hated it nearly as much as girl Bravo (it got a few bonus points for the pretty color).

Or just go on Gulkeeva's homepage.

I have something against that genre, don't mind me.

You could try Zero no Tsukaima I guess, there is plenty of boobies joke lately. I'm sure other poster will be able to give you a better list tho. >_>

i mean why settle for cocktease, it's not like there's ever a fucking shortage of H-OVA if tits are all you're after.

Don't even give me bullshit excuses like characters and plot.

Why settle for story or boobies when you can have both in the same anime!

I could understand why people watch those animes if there was a bit of originality in the story or characters, but they sound like a broken record. Same overused cliché over and over. Flat/large chest joke lose their "funny" after so many times.
