Anime Thread. [Prob not 56k safe]

Just some quick reviews from me for new anime in this month.

Night Wizard - I watched it but forgot which one it is about lol. Too many new anime.

Mobile Suit Gundam 00 - Looks promising, although, I am hoping it's not another Gundam Wing 2.0. If you have watched Full Metal Panic, there are some similarities between Mythril and Celestial Being on how they act.

Rental Magica - Looks like your generic magical anime but main guy character has some interesting power.

Myself; Yourself - High School Life. From the first 3 episodes, not many interesting things happen and the story plot is lacking or just like any typical high school life ie love triangle and such.

Shakugan no Shana Second - If you like the 1st season then chance is that you will like this one. It's a mix of action, comedy and romance.

Clannad - High School Life. The story line looks promising and from the 1st and 2nd episode, it looks depressing or has sad theme judging from the main guy character and main girl character. Other anime that similar to this is probably Kanon.

Kimi kiss pure rogue - High school life. This anime is pretty interesting imho. The main characters are given their own plot/story which is not necessarily related to other main characters so I think there will be some interesting development for all the main characters and you get to know the main characters more later on.

You're under Arrest Full Throttle - Police story about 2 traffic police officers. Some actions but mostly it's comedy and little bit of romance. If you watched the first 2 seasons, you may enjoy this one. The first season was great, however, the 2nd seasons gets really boring.

Minami-ke - looks interesting and maybe similar to azumanga daioh(maybe?) but then again, not sure the direction of the story is going.

Da Capo II - If you watched the Da Capo and Da Capo the 2nd, you know what this anime is about. Some things that clearly lacking from episode one are Character designs and personalities. They reused whatever in Da Capo and Da Capo the 2nd. As far as story line wise, too early to judge from just one episode, although, in episode 1, some stuff that happened are really interesting.

bamboo blade - if you read the manga then you must watch it.

dragonaut - so far i still dont know what they talking about.... i will give it a shot for 2-3 more episodes to see the turn out.

just found out i did d/l some more anime but I haven't watch it yet.... kodomo no jikan, goyussho sama ninomiya kun and etc...

I was browsing 4chan the other day and someone made a post about some anime called "School Days" it seemed like your typical, school, boy meets girl, boy likes girl anime, but about 3 episodes in I realized it really wasn't lol...

I had downloaded 1-12 by some group called "SKYSUB" which wasn't an english translation so needless to say I couldn't understand wtf they were saying save the occasional "yamete, dame, yokata, ohayo" you know, that junk. Anyway... the anime basically went from "oh this is a weird pervert anime thing" to a "WTF?" anime.

Wtf is up with that guy practically raping the girl with the long hair, think her name is Kitsura, why did she let him do that, it was just weird...

Wtf is up with all the sex this kid starts randomly getting about 4-5 episodes in I think, is it sex? They never show anything they simply put them in some compromising situation or show them getting dressed so I assumed.

Wtf is up with the long hair girl going crazy??

Wtf is up with the best friend girl getting pregnant?

Wtf is up with the last episode??? And the killing of the girl and the guy, Mokoto was it?

Honestly, does this shit go on Japanese television or am I misinterpreting the story harshly. Keep in mind all I did was skim through the episodes and kind of pick up what was going on based on the actions/scenes.

Didnt watch that anime, but yes, there is some pretty disturbing stuff on TV. I dont think I would let my kid watch TV there...well, not everything.

School Days is an anime based on an eroge game that is popular in Japan and famous for A) using animated sex scenes instead of just pictures, and B) having 3 bad ends wherin characters die. When the creators decided to make the anime they knew it would have to bad end, and the show's story merges a few paths of the game..but the ending is new. As for the sex..yeah he fucks everyone.

mm yea, don't let the innocent looking animes fool you, a lot of them look like that and turn really wtf.

jp tv is a lot more lenient from what I understand, and Im surprised this would bother you considering you found this from 4chan lol.

Ya I found it extremely disturbing. I don't know why but I still felt really awful when teh wtf moments happened like the girl being raped and the killing and shit despite not being able to understand what was going on. I mean seriously, it was really depressing/disturbing.

btw what is an eroge game lol? The way you put it, it sounds like a sex game or some shit? Why would they make a sex game into an anime. God so fucked up...

edit: Oh, and School Days was pulled from a couple stations for being too violent - and for the record, it aired around 2 am in the morning. It's not like this was a Saturday morning cartoon.

Just finished watching School Days.
Makoto pretty much had sex with every girl (except for Katsura Kotonaha).

*Spoiler* Just for the last episode XD.
-The last episode... Makoto is killed in his apartment by Sekai Saoinji(sp).
-Kotonoha Katsura arrived in his apartment seeing him dead. ( Assumed after seeing that, Kotonaha already knew that Sekai did it.)
-Kotonoha mailed Sekai to come to the school's rooftop using Makoto's cellular phone.
-Sekai arrived carrying the knife she killed Makoto with inside her jacket. Seeing there's a bag on the bench that Kotonoha brought with her, and inside the bag is Makoto's head And then they confronted a bit if Sekai is really pregrant, and if Sekai is using her "pregnancy" to seperate Makoto and Kotonoha.
-Like what Sekai said that she is really pregnant, Kotonoha draw her backsaw to see if Sekai is saying the truth. Sekai tried to kill Kotonoha. Kotonoha is fast enough to stop her, and Sekai dropped her knife......*bloood, moaaaaar blood!* Kotonoha made a hole on Sekai and said "As I suspected, You were lying. *Pause* There's no one inside you."(Eng Sub)
-Then I guess the next day, Kotonoha is in the yacht hugging Makoto's head saying "We're finally alone together, Makoto."
-After the credits, Makoto is saying about Kotonoha.

It's basically a dating simulation game. Based on your choice of answers, you get to see different endings and multiple sex scenes (if any and depends on the game). The story usually is one guy and multiple girl characters and it's possible to have sex with any of the girls. You just need to pick the right answer for the questions.

A lot of anime is based on these games as previously mentioned, Kanon and AIR are some of them. To add, anime like Da Capo, Shuffle and even Fate Stay Night are based on a simulation game( your answers to questions lead you to different endings or story). The amount of sex scenes(if any) are off course varied from one to another. In the anime version, there is usually no sex scene or anything like that.

AFAIK anime has different type of target audiences in Japan so every anime has different viewing hours. Some are meant for adults, some are meant for children and some are meant for everyone (just like those movie ratings you see in the cinema or how TV stations here put certain shows late at night/early morning). I don't think we have anime/cartoon showing @ 2am here (Correct me if I am wrong).
