It kind of surprised me, at the start I was thinking "what the shit 10yr old", but after that it got pretty good as the plot picked up. Art style has always been good, and the shounen blended in makes it just a bit more interesting. Every time you are about to forget the fanservice, you do get an eyeful of boob though, like he has a quotum to meet.
For those that are reading the scanslations:Spoiler: showSpoiler: show
I thought it was weird that it was suddenly confirmed that Krona was a girl (I do remember Tadashi being non-specific and some other groups using 'she' but still...)
Which is why it doesn't surprise or matter whether Krona is a boy or girl. And of course hentai would show Krona being a girl, shit, hentai can show a fucking male cast as women.
I mean even a character like Ed from Cowboy Bebop had a gender...
Just seems odd they haven't shown any signs of her/him being a damn girl/boy, lol.
Read Negima volume 6 and 7 tonight. The manga does get a lot better near the end of Kyoto arc. The training arc was well done compared to most shonen too. Sure, everyone in this class is overpowered, but the way they progress is somewhat believable in the context...so far
I'm also impressed how Akamatsu is dealing with such a huge cast (minus the fanservice). With the story centered on Negi most of the time, it doesn't feel like the manga is an excuse to draw fanservice anymore. There is still way too much, but at least, there is enough plot and joke in between to make me want to read the rest.
Does anyone else find Index kinda disappointing? I mean, the intro makes it look really awesome, but so far it's been boring. The fights are basically prolonged actions with looooads of talking, I mean the last fight basically had like 3 minutes of Touma blocking some huge as beam of light, a couple of actions, then more prolonged blocking of energy while touma ran, for a good minute of so in very slow motion across a fucking tiny room.
Ahh, maybe I'm just nitpicking, but it's very typical anime and I'm guessing it doesn't get any better. I'm all for story and development, but I want my fucking awesome action sequences as well, I don't want them citing essays about a characters special moves or abilities when there should be some fucking sword swinging. Even Soul Eater does it (practically every shounen as well) and it annoys me greatly.
It seems like they're fluffing like 5 minutes of content into full episodes. Aside from the DBZ style action where it takes forever for anything to actually happen (like it taking touma 10 minutes to cross a tiny room to get to index), most character dialogues seem to repeat the same things 3 or 4 times just to drag it out.
I've been getting into the Negima manga, but only to 79 so far (the festival is about to begin, I heard someone comment about the festival arc earlier) and I like it. Sure there's a lot of fanservice, but it's explained a lot "better" than in other manga/anime I've seen. And the atmosphere I get from it doesn't really take things like that too seriously, I think that's a poor choice of words. But I still see the plot and it's not about asuna's bear panties and I find the plot interesting and the ecchi parts funny, it's a great blend imo. Can't wait to read more of it.
What I'm really hoping for is a season 2 of History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi. The first season of the anime was great and the manga is awesome, I'm hoping once this arc closes that another season will begin showing at some point. I think with the current translated section of the manga they could do another season though (end of the D of D tournament). No idea if any such thing is even being considered though, I guess I'll find out eventually.
The first 5.5 Episode just follow the exact story line of the first volume of novel. Except they have skip some part of the novel already, which include the flash back memory a year before Index's memory has been erased. Else you might found there will be another 1-2 bored episode.
hm... don't really expect there is lot's of long fighting scene in this anime.Ahh, maybe I'm just nitpicking, but it's very typical anime and I'm guessing it doesn't get any better. For the citation essay, it just some trend of the japanese light novel when its coming to magic explaination...... Usually the author try to shows their definition is unique... but, who care if I just want to read it relax myself
The Toaru Majutsu no Index novels jump all over the place PoV wise, the 2nd or 3rd novel is from the railgun girls perspective I think.
Yeah I agree, most of the fanservice makes me chuckle, but I can understand how it can be offputting to some.
Incidentally, I'd just linked Kenichi to a mate of mine, who'd said he didn't really like the anime after giving it a try. I read all of the manga in one night last week, and I have to say I don't get how you could really mess it up.What I'm really hoping for is a season 2 of History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi. It's probably just that you have to give it several episodes to get warmed up I expect.
End of arc in manga was pretty epic, really looking forward to seeing what happens next.
