I wonder if they'll give L an english accent? 11 weeks til Misa tiem, she better sound perky >_>

Yeah, he's not really supposed to be serious and evil at all. If anything he's bored and just looking for fun things to do 8)Originally Posted by Falconblade
Agreed. Light's voice wasn't too bad. Different, yes, but that's to be expected. Have to hear his voice some more to see how good/bad it it.Originally Posted by octopus
They better not fuck up L's voice, his natural and scrambler voice.
It would be hard to fuck up a scrambler voice. Since its scrambled, it always sounds the same.Originally Posted by Valrath

You'd be surprised on how often "cannot be screwed up" can be screwed up. I'm being cautiously optimistic. As L put it, there's only 5% chance they'll mess it it.Originally Posted by Falconblade

I'm curious to see how they lose money when you download anime. Almost every series in america were popularized with internet, so if they are making any profit, they shouldn't complain about it.
How the hell did distributing anime on the internet damage the creative industries of Japan(is that their way of saying that they lose money ? cuz it seems to be the case) ? if it was not because of downloading from the internet, we wouldn't know shit about anime like naruto or bleach for example and they would not be licensed here and shown on TV. IMHO, one of the major reasons that those US-based companies license anime is because there are demands for them and the reason why there are demands is because people here are aware of those anime from downloading from the internet (BT,direct download, mIRC etc). If they can show how they lose money with detail numbers then I may believe that they do lose money, otherwise, I don't think they should complain.Originally Posted by octopus
For me personally, downloading anime is my way to select which anime is worth to buy the DVDs for if they are licensed here in NA and I do buy DVDs for anime that I really like ^^.
If I had to make a bullshit logical reason(and which I always do), I would probably think that since the popularization of Animu in US, there was a popularization of Subs. And subbers usually can't sub while the episode was running, so they have to download RAWs. The RAWs get all over the internet in a more popular fashion, more people put effort into good RAWs, RAWs get good enough quality to compete with DVDs, DVD sales decline.Originally Posted by Kaylia
Would rather have a DVD sales decline, than no DVD sales at allNot sure how they are planning to sell their DVD oversea with no publicity.
DVD overseas mean shit when Lucky Star gets 200k a month in sales.Originally Posted by Kaylia
Besides, DVD sales here were never that big. A majority of the demographic would still be pirating.
I could understand the argument for japan, but not oversea where p2p is the only place where some of those anime get known. The article specifically mentioned in america.Originally Posted by Falconblade
And I discussed the problems with American piracy and how it could effect Japanese sales already.Originally Posted by Kaylia
Besides, they don't really sell DVDs in America. They sell rights to franchises for distribution, and the royalties they get probably don't amount to much.
