I'm not even sure why I hate them, I just know they annoy me. They would have been fine in another anime probably, but it's not the kind of characters or jokes I wanted to see in Kannagi.

My favorite scenes so far was the one where Nagi glued that broken rod in the middle of the table. It's simple things like this (and the following reactions) that make me laugh. Taking shot at otaku's culture just doesn't do it for me, other animes have done it better before.

Wish I could enjoy Kannagi as much as you people, the show irritate me for some reason (it's the school club and Zangi that I can't stand).

Toradora is the only show I'm looking forward this season. chaos head look decent, but I stopped watching after 2 episodes and going to marathon it..

It's funny, Kannagi I love but Toradora is something I can live without seeing. When it comes to romantic relationships, I hate tsundere. The whole master and slave/dog thing, being completely forward one moment and then backwards the next (relationship reset GO!) Bleh, annoying.

Taiga calling Ryuji "dog" is probably the only thing that I hate in this anime. It doesn't add anything, and it just sound stupid no matter what the context is. Personally, their relationship remind me of Welcome to the NHK backward. I just see Taiga as someone messed up in the head who don't know how to deal with other people more than a typical tsundere (even if she is one).

I don't mind the relationship going "backward" because of the setting. Both are suposed to go after someone else, and the whole story is built around this. It's kinda obvious they will end up together eventually, but I'm not expecting them to change until they both give up on Minori/Yusaku.

And Kannagi will be good if every episode are like the last one. I just hate the idea of the main character trying to become an idol to get her power back..it just feel wrong.

I like Taiga and Ryuuji a lot more when they manage to have an exchange/conversation without Taiga throwing stuff at/hitting Ryuuji. They're good characters, but the whole violence thing is SO out of place and the funnier things in Toradora have nothing to do with some character getting hit, so why is there a need for it in the first place?

As for Kannagi, I'm not sure I like the idea of her being an idol either, but I don't think they would be that straight forward with it, the OP suggests this but I'll be surprised if that happens. IIRC the last episode wasn't about Nagi trying to become an idol either, but whatever happens if the quality is the same I'll still watch it.

I understand your point, but personally, I don't think Taiga is as bad as you make it sound. Beside the occasional name calling at the end of her line (which isn't even too bad most of the time), she rarely uses violence against Ryuji. The only person she is truly violent (or childish) with is Amy, and that's a completly different matter.

I also prefer the serious conversation and real development, but I'm happy with the amount we get. They spend over half of the episodes on it usually, and that's a better average than most anime.



About Kannagi, the cosplay cafe and net idol episodes is what bothered me the most so far. Even if she doesn't become a "pop idol", I just can't stand the concept of someone trying to become popular for the sake of being popular.

I'm not about to go back and count how many times Taiga has hit Ryuuji, but it's enough to annoy me. All her aggressive actions towards Ryuuji are unnecessary, it's a combination of the dog thing with the slave/master thing and the violence that is stupid.

Granted it's not as much as other series she's in, and it has its moment, but really the whole dog comments seem to always leave a bad taste in my mouth. It's nice that Ryuuji isn't as much a pushover as any of her other tsundere flicks protagonist though.

It has nothing to do with Kugimiya, it's how Taiga is in the novels. Rie just gets cast as the role because shes proven she can do tsundere and because JC Staff is animating it.
