The RAWs get all over the internet in a more popular fashion, more people put effort into good RAWs, RAWs get good enough quality to compete with DVDs, DVD sales decline.

I'm sure the increase in bandwidth, more ram and bigger hardrive has nothing to do with raws quality. >_> Raws didnt get better cause of the anime subbing, it got better because technology is much cheaper than it was a few years ago, and video encoding got better. I can find high quality version of french canadian show on the net (7m population here), it's only normal that a country half the size of USA get their show uploaded on the net with high quality.

Yes, there is a big community around fansub, but I doubt it affect in any way the release of .raw in Japan.

Besides, they don't really sell DVDs in America. They sell rights to franchises for distribution, and the royalties they get probably don't amount to much.

I know that, but it's the same. If there was a bigger market, they would sell rights at a higher price and make more money out of it.

Not really, no. His only impressive feat was getting lucky with his detainment, and memory wipe. Even then, he really relied on L for most of the work there.
