btw whatever happened to the Gurren Lagann movie? I don't think they ever announced a DVD release...
(I know, and I don't care that it's a retelling of the story)

Agreed, but at least it was better than Touhou Project Side Story. Hah! What am I saying, that's not hard.
Some of the voices were nice, like Marisa, Suika and Aya, but some seem off...well, everyone else.
The story was typical touhou randomness, some like it and for a game it works. But not in anime. Never ever.
For a random story, it's pretty badly written though.
I personally think that it would've been nicer to animate an existing story, but maybe that's just me wanting to see miko miko suika/inaba of the earth and inaba of the moon series.
I think touhou randomness would work decently as slice on life with danmaku, but this one seem to be just badly planned out.
Anyone still keeping up with the hellsing ova that releases an episode per year...(basically!) episode 5 wasn't to bad, definantly alot more carnage then any other episode though ... lots more O_o
Yeah I suppose so. To be honest I never expect a lot from a Touhou story. But for an unofficial anime it could be worse. Although the idea of a touhou slice of life with danmaku sounds awesome.
As far as the story goes, it would work as a doujin for some reason but they missed out on a few key points. Like why does Suika need to go buy sake when she has a gourd full of the damn stuff?
Well, on the whole the thing was a disappointment, but it was still better than I imagined. Though the art was still laughable. There was one close up shot of Remillia's face that scared the shit outta me.
It was better than expected, but let's face it, most of us were expecting that side story deal. I'll admit, most of the seiyuu name surprised the hell off me, I mean rena, shinku, maria, and belldandy? Which lead me into believing that either a decent amount of money went into this, those seiyuu has fallen pretty low, they are a fan of touhou series, or the seiyuu is a really, really horrible career choice that they'd have to pick up this kind of job to get by.
Speaking of hellsing, did the manga ends or did the guy just go on extended hiatus or something?
Or did he just gave up after realizing he fucked up bad when he decide to kill off alucard?
well.. there goes me ever reading the hellsing manga (not that i evert really thought of doing so, but I could have!)
youre terrible at not using spoiler tags Zilong. in alot of your posts.
Believe me, it's waaaay less climactic than it sounds...
Let's face it, if you plan to read it, you'd already have and would have been raging along with me.
yea, i just saw hellsing V. i'm really enjoying the ovas over the series.
zilong, the manga didnt end with alucard dieing, there were more chapters after that that you might want to read.
i'm pretty sure there's going to be (or maybe there is already) a new manga series that's supposed to be set during the events of WW2.
here's something random... Am I the only one that wished they did more episodes of Zoids: New Century(the one with bit cloud)? I remember watching it on cartoon network way back when, then the series ended. then they showed a new Zoids, but it was stupid!
I dont know what made me think of that just now...

I finally finished Higurashi, and Kai. Heh. Wow. Really, really funny series. I'm not sure if I was supposed to laugh that much... but it was certainly very entertaining. Kai was pretty cool, I liked the bait and switch, and the ending was suitably epic for the events. Though, like with most anime (and I'm hoping not with the games/novels/etc), the ending was unsatisfying in the sense of individual loose ends. I suppose that's why there's another season (or ova series, whatever) coming.
I don't know why it is, but out of all the finished anime series I've ever followed, maybe 2 or 3 have had any real tying up of loose story ends. So many of them build up character stories and then just kind of toss them out when they resolve the main plot. Manga -tends- to do a little more, but not often. Is there some kind of rule here I'm not clear on?
after mention of the manga... I found only up to 94 ( or 93) couldn't find the rest... definantly awesome imo... the great crazy alucard... definantly kept me up till 4am on a work night looking through and reading it all from 40ish (where ova Ep5 is) to the 90's.
Randomly, there needs to be more seras hentai ;/
Going to reiterate that everyone needs to download and watch Michiko and Hatchin, especially if you liked Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo
