Nope, he usually kills the jokes by making the comics too long, and sometimes he doesn't even deliver a punchline.
In general VGCats sucks...

I mean sure, I've chuckled at a couple of the comics, but I never actually burst out laughing even once.

VG cats used to be great, but now it's going down hill, coupled with how inconsistant he is with his releases and it's just not a webcomic worth keeping up with. A long time ago it would be like "did you see the new VG cats strip?" Now, I can hardly find anyone who gives a shit (including myself).

Gurren Lagann OVA (that came with the DS game) subbed just came out

Just beat the Gurren Lagann DS game. It's quite a nice game. I had fun with it.

The story though... The 2nd half seemed quite rushed. The material in the first half of the story (until Lord Genome) doubled the second half's (anti-spirals) material.

The OVA's new characters' story was added to the game. I kinda wish they had them in the original TV series so they could shorten ep 4-6. As for specific story points in the game...


- Nia still died
- Gurren Lagann never combined with the Arc, and Gurren Lagann never became Galactic sized
- Yoko never kissed Kittan
- They never showed any of the crew's deaths except Kittan
- They never showed any of the people's dreams except Simon, and that dream was shortened a lot.
- Roshio's tribe story was reduced to just a short fight in their area, and the Chief was never shown.
- There's a hot springs part, but it's completely different than both the TV and DVD part

Anime I'm currently watching
Shakugan no shana 2: painful to watch so far, no to little progress compared to season 1.
Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei: Awesome art. Getting kinda redundant, but it was funny/weird
Higurashi season 2: Season 2 is kinda slow imo, but there is some good part
Hayate no gotoku: half filler, half funny. Love it when its funny, rest suck
Oh! Edo rocket: By the same guy who wrote gurren lagann I think (lot of similar character too imo). Artwork is beautiful, show is funny and story is interesting toward the end. Was dragged a lot in the middle of the show tho.

Well i must say being in Iraq has its advantages. Almost every Haji Shop you go into has pretty much any movie, cartoon, tv show, and best and definately not least Anime. best of all they sell them in complete box sets. Since i been here i have watched every Naruto all the way threw Shippoden to episode 16, Blacklagoon, all the dragonball series, rewatched full metal alchemist + the movie, Berzerk, Elfen lied, trigun, outlawstar, and several other full sets that i can not remember fully off the top of my head. The best to this point that i have watched was "Death Note" i seriously wished it had not ended.

How much do those boxsets cost?

And I wish DN didnt end either.. cuse the last episode completly ruined everything, such a great anime up to that point ;-;

They usually charged by the DVD normally 4 bucks per and most of the box sets had between 4 to 6 DVDs in them. Granted most of the box sets you get there are knockoffs black market but atleast i did not fall too far behind in my episodes while being in country. I am finally out of Iraq and on my way back to Alaska.

Watched Gurren Lagann in the span of a day. Huge thanks to aers for giving me the codecs to watch it on MPC. TTGL is now my favorite series of all time. I hate most anime nowadays, this one brought back a nostalgic feeling.. I felt like I was a 14 year old kid watching animu again. The ending was very sad.. and happy. I didn't know wtf to feel, but I did like it.
