Pretty much what Zilong said, except I would use nicer word.

However, I've to admit, for people who are building a dvd collection, this is a much better addition than most anime series. It's the kind of movie anyone could watch and enjoy (unless explosion and martial art are a requirement).

Of course, there is always a tiny probability that an adaption doesn't fail, but in the case of a gameplay oriented rpg, I doubt they will suceed. The pacing can't possibly feel natural when you strip away the gameplay. You're left with a nice setting, but no character interactions and/or guideline that link everything together.

If I could download a series for 3$ online (or 15$/months to download all the anime you want), I would probably do it. The price tag and ordeal you have to go through to get your DVD is just not worth the price.

Right now, I don't think it's really different than watching it on TV. There is no commercial, but why does it matter, it's not like I ever bought something because of a commercial.

didn't even know they started dubbing Higurashi, but I saw the 1st DVD at work today "When they Cry". the messed up thing was, the box cover was all the females in cute little outfits in cute little poses. "mommy buy me this one! look how cute they all look!" ok... not exactly sure what little girl is going to want to buy any anime, but it was needed for a setup!
also, they kind of spoiled the shion/mion thing cause they were both on the box. kissing no less.

Haha, Casey and Friends is good shit. I remember watching that ages ago, it's a shame really that 4kids isn't doing anything to it. I would have loved to see the changes. I bet it would become a completely different show.

Also Zilong, what's the comic called in your sig? It looks familiar but you make me want to read it again (or at least see if I have it).

Higurashi Rei 1 is out, just watched it. It's... definitely different. Kinda funny, mostly creepy, kind of servicey (and not just the girls.... YOU'LL SEE). Looks like the next one (DVD 3.25 the ending says) will be more serious, I think it's the one where none of the Super Trauma happened to the various characters (everyone has parents, Satoshi isn't missing, etc).
