and is FMA covering the manga faster than the 1st anime was? or same pace?

The first episode is sort of a recap episode, even though it looks like it's starting over from chapter 1 next week if the preview was an indication.

Hayate first episode was kinda bad. There was no joke (smiled a few times at most), and the whole thing felt like a filler. I understand they wanted to reintroduce every characters, but it wasn't fun to watch.

Hayate is enjoyable when they are doing parody and 4th wall breaking, not when they create unlikely school event that won't have any character development and/or clever joke.

Saki was alright i'll give it 1 or 2 ep if i'll keep watching but Guin Saga was cool another show i'll watch from start to finish hey can't go wrong with baby sitting with leopardman

I think your too used to the ACTUAL filler laden show that the old studio produced a year ago, this season should be more faithful to the manga.

Valkyria Chronicles first episode is out now. I like the animtation style they used (I know they us the same as the game but I havent played the game yet). I think Valkyria will be my favorite next to Fma-Bro.

I think your too used to the ACTUAL filler laden show that the old studio produced a year ago, this season should be more faithful to the manga.

It felt like a filler because they reintroduced every characters, instead of moving on with the story and jokes. That aside, my biggest issue is the slow pacing. Because reading a manga is much faster than watching an anime, you're left with ridiculous scenes that are dragged longer than they should, and it's just awkward. The stupid setting doesn't matter when it takes 4 panels to reach the punchline. However, when you drag it over 4min, it get kinda stupid.

Fillers in the first season were all over the place. Some had great jokes, while other were terrible. If they want to stick to the manga closely, I'm just going to read it instead.

Sounds like they used the same voices from the game(valkyria) for the cast in the show which is cool. If they don't have lelouch as the emperor though I'll be disappointed.

wow I should probably keep up with this thread/other anime news a bit more. A long time ago on youtube or something I only heard a rumor of "manga-based FMA possibly... maybe.... we'll see" Imagine my surprise when i got home from work this morning to see if bleach 214 was out and saw a new FMA ep =D

Going to watch K-On, seems to be getting decent amount of attention (and hentai pics!)

Basquash isn't to bad... although sort of odd story the action didn't seem abd and its ecchi so...!

im not to sure about when the next kissXsis will come out but i will be waitin for it. watched sengoku basara today, thought it was really good will be keepiong up with it. saki looked interestin as well. pandora hearts looked interestin as well. this coming season of anime looks promising

Requiem for the Phantom looked pretty good as well, shangri-la, dragon ball kai, valkyria chronicles, asura cryin, hayate 2, queens blade are all on my list. (only reason i'm not watching fma is because i haven't watched the first season? don't feel like rewatching it now)

You do know FMA season 1 and 2 are alternate story, and both start from the beginning? You're missing out on a good anime if you skip season 1, but you don't need to watch it for the new series.
