Valkyria Chronicles is pretty shitty. It try to depict a realistic warfare story, yet between about every fucking retarded cliche of incompetent higher ups and the bullshit tsundere, it's just pretty insulting to watch.

Oh, and apparently it's like the fucking enemy just fails geography/topology or something...

Fukujun not even trying not to be Zero is also pretty bleh, probably because I still have a lot of enmity toward that voice from geass faggotry, so I guess I really shouldn't bother with that.

Really, should just stop pretending to make this series about strategic warfare and just upgrade the fucking tank into a transformer mech that shoots laser out of its eyes, give Welkin an all purpose detonator/plot victory button, and have Alicia wearing naked apron and gun because that's what it boils down into anyway.

lol, I somewhat agree with you. The anime has changed a lot from the game which I suppose might have been needed. Welkin's tank is strong but in the anime it's godlike (and moves a lot fucking faster than it should). Alicia has been turned into a tsundere which I hate, but it's OK because it's Kana (can't unsee...)

One thing that disappointed me was the preview for next week. It looked like filler when they could easily have jumped to the Barious desert battles.

Haha. Well I've never played the game (don't shoot me). I was planning on playing the game, but the anime came out, so I'm gonna finish the anime, then play the game so I can see the differences.

Either way, Selvaria seems pretty awesome, and I do feel Alicia's probably not as.. I dunno, silly(?) in the game as she is here.

Selvaria is really fucking awesome, she has some great moments and the DLC with her missions add to her character. Alicia isn't nearly as silly as she appears in the anime, she's a lot more...normal?

The issue is they're using the manga adaptation for their material, not the game's script. As soon as I found this out and found out some of the details of the manga, I sort of wrote off the entire thing altogether.

I still love the game, but the anime... yeah, no, sorry guys.

EDIT: Went to get my hands on the scans for the first volume to make sure I wasn't hallucinating or anything... What the fuck, even the manga is more spot on than the anime.

Eh. It's not my favorite anime of the season or anything, but I still find it somewhat enjoyable. I'm going to finish with the series, then play the game so I can see the differences.
