K-on! is far more about moe than Lucky Star ever was. Konata was obsessed with video games/manga and K-On! is about music, often opposite types of people (not always, but most of the time...) so while they're both stories about girls originating from 4-panel comics, they're a bit different. I enjoyed Lucky Star and love K-on! but for very different reasons.

K-on! is also only got about 2 volumes of material to work on, they already at the point where Azusa and Ui come to their school.
